The  Utah  Comprehensive  Accountability  System  (UCAS)  is  the  state  accountability  system.  Under  the  UCAS  framework,  every  school  can  earn  a  total  of  600  points—300  total  points  for  Achievement  and  300  points  for  Growth.  Achievement  indicates  whether  students  did  or  did  not  pass  the  test.  Growth  indicates  to  what  extent  a  child  made  progress  from  one  year  to  the  next.  Most  of  the  UCAS  points  come  from  Language  Arts,  Mathematics,  and  Science.  However,  Writing  is  also  factored  into  the  overall  performance  score.  As  you  can  see  in  the  graph  to  the  right,  Thunder  Ridge  scored  above  the  state  average  in  May  2013.  The  chart  below  shows  that  we  saw  growth  in  every  category  in  May  2013  compared  to  May  2012!
