Forward in Faith!

Forward in Faith!

God continues His good work at Faithbridge!

A question has been asked by many: “With high quality pastors

already at Faithbridge, why look elsewhere for a new lead pas-

tor?” Faithbridge is incredibly blessed! Our pastoral staff mem-

bers display godliness and excellence in their ministry.

Present pastors were given serious evaluation. Fit was a key con-

sideration - how do their skills, experience, and ministry passion

align with the priorities defined as important for the next lead

pastor? This question is key for all candidates. There was also

discussion on whether or not the defined priorities could be split

up among present staff members, allowing the needs to be met

through the combined gifts of the present team. Even though

the defined priorities are guidelines, not absolute boundaries,

leadership and the pastors themselves did not sense a significant

match or achievable configuration.

Availability was also a consideration – did any of the present pas-

toral staff see themselves as ready or willing to take on the lead

pastor role? No one felt God moving them toward serious con-

sideration of the lead pastor role.

Please pray specifically for the search advisory team and the dea-

con board as they complete the process of following up the can-

didate referrals received. If God does not call a new pastor from

these options, the search will be expanded nationwide in con-

junction with a placement firm.

Live BOLD! Display the presence of God in a vivid, vibrant, cou-

rageous, and supernatural manner!

Men’s Gym /Fellowship Day: On Saturday, March 24th, 30 men

attended including 7 from MN Adult and Teen Challenge. It was a

busy day of fun, food, fitness and fellowship from 9am till

3pm. Had homemade cinnamon rolls and coffee and fruit in the

morning and pulled pork sandwiches, cheesy hash browns, baked

beans, coleslaw and homemade cookies for lunch.

Activities included pickle ball, dodge

ball, swat, basketball, floor hockey,

corn hole toss, carpet ball, ping

pong and pool; Gideon Bible presen-

tation and distribution by Ron Jen-

sen and Doug Hanson; Man talks by

Ron James and Mark from Teen

Challenge. They shared about God’s

protection, grace and redemption in their lives, awesome remind-

ers that God does restore prodigals. We built some great bridges

with our visitors and are praying for them and also that they will be

at Men’s Advance at Camp Lebanon this coming weekend.

We are praying about another

event in October and hope to

see more of our men there,

along with Teen Challenge and

the Father Project.

The Christian Education Team hosted the appreciation din-

, as a way

of thanking all those involved in serving in Christian Education.

The French Café Flambe was the destination/theme of this

year’s appreciation dinner. As a delicious meal was enjoyed,

the mystery unfolded and people were challenged to solve who

the mysterious benefactor really was.

A big thank you to Pastor Phil for sharing the devotional,

Kathy & Kim Johnson for our delicious French fare, Barb

Bumgardner for helping decorate, Audra Hill for costumes and

decorations, and all the actors, actresses, mime, waiters and

waitresses.

Thanks to everyone who attended as this helped to make a

fun evening for all. Please contact Mary Paskvan or Shana Gunn,

Parish Nurses

A Healthy Body

1 Corinthians 6:19 “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy

Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your

own.”

Take a good look at yourself. What is your attitude about your body? How

concerned are you with healthy eating and regular exercise? These are impor-

tant questions that many believers never ask themselves. In fact, some may

separate the spiritual life from the physical life all together. However, this is

not the view that the Lord intended

God, who carefully crafted every one of us, places a high value on our bodies

(Psalm 139:13). The human form represents the masterpiece of creation and

God entrusted our bodies to our care. Just as with any other resource – such

as relationships or money – the Father expects wise stewardship from us.

Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians provides a clear picture of followers of

Christ mistreating their bodies. Many people in the church had been engaging

in various unacceptable practices, including gluttony, and sexual misconduct.

(1 Corinthians 5:1, 1 Corinthians 11:21). Because of their low view of the physi-

cal body, they incorrectly regarded this behavior as completely separate from

their spiritual life. They believed they could do anything they wanted with

their bodies and still be considered “good Christians.”

In verse 16 of chapter 3, Paul declares, “Do you not know that you are a temple

of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16) The apos-

tle reminds us God’s Holy Spirit has come to live in the heart and life of every

believer.

If you have received Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Savior, then He has taken up

residence in your life. In effect, your body

has become a walking testimony. What is

your body saying about your relationship

with the heavenly Father?
