    MULTIPLE PUNT FORMATIONS: WHY

1.Limit Defenses ability to rush andblock the punt

2.Spread out Defense and improveyour coverage ability- lessenchance of a big return.

    3. More difficult to put a returner in who isnot a

    D-Back

    4. Force them to only be able to put one

returner back- easier to kick away froma dangerous returner- if they put twoback- they are vulnerable to a fakesomewhere in their alignment

    PERSONNEL AND ALIGNMENT RULES

1.Use an athlete at punter- preferablyyour starting QB- Someone who canhandle pressure, is not afraid to callfakes and is someone with a shortmemory and who can run and throw

    the ball.2.Wide Recs/ DBs/ LBs /RBs are on the

punt team- NOT Offensive Linemenunless they are quick and fast.
