November 3, 2019 COMMUNITY IMPACT - LET’S MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
NOVEMBER 2 & 3
St. Trinity is hosting an Impact Weekend event on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 11:00 am in the gym.
You can help those in need by helping to make plarn, which is used to make valuable recovery bags.
These bags (made from recycled plastic grocery bags) are used by disaster
victims to recover their valuables.
Great for all ages...this is a green initiative of DRAW (Disaster Relief At Work, Inc.)
There will also be a station for writing thank you letters to our local heroes, firefighters and police officers.
Sign up for this event at https://communityimpactweekend.org/ or just show up after Sunday worship.
Welcome to St. Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church
Welcome to our service this morning. We invite you to participate with us as we worship the Lord in song, in giving, in prayer and in studying His Word. It is our desire to be a fellowship that reaches out to others and cares for one another. May God richly bless our time together this morning.

Serving the Lord this Week
Matthew 5:6 – “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” You only hunger and thirst for what you don’t have. Jesus has come to fill us up with righteousness – His own righteousness. He is the self-giving Lord whose sacrifice inspires us to be givers, too.

ALTAR CIRCLE CUTLERY SALE
Altar Circle will have a Rada Cutlery Sale before and after service on Sunday, Nov. 17th. Rada Cutlery is made in America and has been making remarkable cutlery for 60+ years. This cutlery makes great Christmas gifts. Dips and soup mixes are also available.
ATTENTION COFFEE/TEA DRINKERS!
I am looking for some help with cleaning up...not setting up...coffee on Sunday mornings. I need a list of volunteers who will cover for me when I am not at church on some Sundays. I do this job every Sunday but can’t be in the building on some occasions. It only takes about 15 minutes, either after church or after Bible class. Please contact me if you are willing to be “on call”. Thank you, Liz Meyer 248-625-8942 or at [email protected]
SOCIAL MEDIA TRAINING Sunday, November 24
12:00-1:30 pm
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn…. Are you interested in learning how (or improving on current usage) to use some of the current social media sites? Julie Nemeth will lead this class along with some of our youth for one-on-one training. Participants should bring a charged device that they would normally use for social media interactions. Our hope is the more individuals we can train, the more individuals we have to digitally spread the goodness occurring at St. Trinity.
SAMARITAN’S PURSE OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
It is not too late to pick up a shoebox so you can join the journey and help children living in war-torn and poverty stricken countries to learn of Jesus’ love. Filled boxes must be turned in by November 17. We will be checking them on Monday, November 18 so they can then be taken to a local collection center. Please join us at 6:30 pm in the FLC for
fun followed by yummy refreshments. Any questions, please call Sharon Gehrke at 248-620-2011.

THANK YOU FROM QUILTERS
To Our Congregation & Supporters, We thank God for your timely and generous donations. With the $300.00 Thrivent Dollars, bread sale, the masterful use of sales, coupons, and a Veterans’ discount our total expense was $328.00. With the little we had left we were able to remedy a few supply shortages in the back-packs. There were 65 completed backpacks. Your St. Trinity Quilt Team

BOARD OF HUMAN CARE
During this season of giving, the Human Care Board is encouraging our church families to teach their children and grandchildren the joy of making a difference in the lives of others by participating in a congre-gational “Reverse Advent Calendar” servant event. How does it work? Instead of taking things “out” of an Advent Calendar as a countdown to Christmas, you put things “in” an Advent box (food items) and at the end of the moth you take the box to Lighthouse or any other local food bank. What a wonderful lesson in giving to pass on to our loved ones and friends. This can also be done in the month of November as a countdown to Thanksgiving!
Take a sheet with some food item suggestions.
