Lighter Side

Call Ahead

Father John was nervous when he cast Jimmy, the

middle school class clown, as Joseph in the annual

Christmas pageant. His fears were realized when

Jimmy decided to do a little improvisation by pulling

out his cell phone in the pageant’s opening scene.

The astonished priest, who was narrating, asked,

“What are you doing with your phone?”

Jimmy smiled and replied, “This year I’m phoning

that inn to make a reservation!”

Sermon

“The secret of a good sermon is to have a good be-

ginning and a good ending; and to have the two as

close together as possible.” — George Burns

Mass Intention Requests

Offering Mass for a special Intention is a long

standing tradition in the Catholic Church. It is

usually considered that special graces are

obtained for whom the Mass is said. Masses

are offered for many reasons, for the souls in

purgatory, in remembrance for someone who

is deceased, or in honor of a birthday or anni-

versary. If you would like to have a Mass said

for someone, go to the Parish Office or call

248-634-4841 ext. 0. They will help you with

the dates and times which are available.

Cards are then given to you so that you can

mail them to whomever you choose to so

they may also participate in the Mass. The

stipend or offering given, signifies the sacrifi-

cial nature of giving of something of yourself

to associate more intimately with Christ who

offers himself in the Eucharist.

Please Include the following in the

Mass Intentions:
