NEW LIFE RETREAT
— MARCH 10 – 13, 2017 -
The New Life Retreat weekend is an invitation to
a life-changing encounter with the living Jesus
Christ and a call to “let go and let God”.
Are you feeling that your plans for your life haven’t brought the
joy and meaning that you expected? Are you looking for guid-
ance in your faith journey? Are you seeking a personal rela-
tionship with the living Jesus Christ? Give this weekend a try
so that God can tell you in a new or deeper way how much He
loves you.
This retreat is an important component in the faith develop-
ment of St. Mary’s Parish. It is a weekend to learn more about
the power and richness of the Holy Spirit and to be baptized in
the Holy Spirit. It is also an opportunity to make new friend-
ships in the Lord. Join us for the New Life Retreat, Friday to
Monday, March 10, 11, 12 and 13. Past retreatants are wel-
come to attend and we encourage you to bring a friend or fami-
ly member. For information, pick up a brochure at the main or
side entrances of the Church. To register, call Odette at (613)
224-5723.
THANK YOU ST MARY’S!
The weekend of January 14
-15th we made a parish
appeal to you to help fund-
raise for our CCO mission
to the University of Galway
in Ireland. We were so
touched by the generosity
of the parishioners of St. Mary's and would like to thank you for
helping us reach our goal. We will keep you all in our prayers
throughout our mission. God Bless! Isaiah & Evelyn Brine

This Holy Thursday will mark 30 years since Father Bob
opened our Adoration Chapel. Thirty years of continued Adora-
tion at St Mary's is an amazing feat considering the distances
many of our adorers travel to keep their committed hour.
BUT in order to keep our current hours open, we require two
committed adorers for each hour. Without two committed ador-
ers, we will have to start limiting the hours of adoration, alt-
hough the chapel itself will remain open.

MAINTENANCE OF ST MARY’S CHURCH
This week new floors were installed in the sacristy, the parish
office foyer, rectory basement hallway, rectory stairways and
the front hall of the rectory. No more unsightly floors with miss-
ing tiles!
A church well maintained is a place of welcome and comfort.
Caring for our place of worship encourages each of us to invite
others to join us in our worship and other activities.

Ja nua ry Ste wa rd ship Re p o rt IS CHRISTIANITY TO BLAME FOR
ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION?
The conversation around environmental stewardship can be
challenging. What is the Christian voice? Is there a Christian
voice? Does the church and the society we live in have a clear
understanding of what the Biblical narrative says about environ-
mental stewardship, climate justice, and how to face an uncer-
tain future with hope?
The Veritas Forum, which involves a collaboration of Christian
groups at the University of Ottawa, in collaboration with the
Canadian Scientific & Christian Affiliation (CSCA) welcomes Dr.
Steven Bouma-Prediger, professor of Religion and Director of
Environmental Studies at Hope College in Holland, Michiagan
to Ottawa as the 2017 Veritas speaker on January 29 & 30.
