Nosotros somos una Familia de Fe en Cristo Jesús. Somos una comunidad de fe confor-mada por las parroquias de San Martin de Tours, fundada en 1906, y Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, fundada en 1872. Nos encontramos ubicados en Bushwick , Brooklyn, NY.

Nuestro fundamento es la Palabra de Dios, seguimos las enseñanzas de la Iglesia Católica Romana, valoramos y celebramos nuestra diversidad, fe, es-peranza y amor en el Señor Jesús. Creemos que el Espíritu Santo nos guía a tra-vés de los diferentes momentos de nuestra vida parroquial, y que la Santísima Virgen María nos acompaña en éste caminar en la fe. Estamos dedicados ayudarnos los unos a los otros en el fortalecimiento de la fe, la comunión , y la participación a través de la Palabra de Dios , La Santa Misa y la Evangelización. De esta manera respondemos a la llamada de Dios al discipulado en la vida parro-quial. Queremos ser todos los días una comunidad más vibrante y participativa. Queremos seguir organizándonos de una manera tal que todas las personas se sientan bienvenidas, aceptadas y animadas a compartir sus dones y talentos.

We are One Family of Faith in Jesus Christ. We are the merged faith community of St. Martin of Tours, founded in 1906, and Our Lady of Lourdes, found in 1872, both located in Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY. We are rooted in God’s word and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church; we value and celebrate our diversity, faith, hope and love in the Lord Jesus. It is our belief that the Holy Spirit guides us through the different moments of our parish life, and that the Blessed Mother of God assists us in this journey of faith. We are committed to help each other strengthen our faith, communion and participation through God’s Word, Holy Eucharist and Evangelization. In this way we answer the call to discipleship in our parish life. We seek to become more participatory and vibrant. We want to keep organizing ourselves in a way that all people feel welcomed, accepted and encouraged to share their gifts and talents.

ANUNCIOS PARA EL 12 DE MARZO DEL 2017

“ESTE ES MI HIJO MUY AMADO, EN QUIEN TENGO

EVANGELIO: Mateo 17:1-9

En aquel tiempo, Jesús tomó consigo a Pedro, a Santiago y a Juan, el hermano de éste, y los hizo subir a solas con él a un monte elevado. Ahí se transfiguró en su presencia: su rostro se puso resplandeciente como el sol y sus vestiduras se volvieron blancas como la nieve. De pronto aparecieron ante ellos Moisés y Elías, conversando con Jesús. Entonces Pedro le dijo a Jesús: “Señor, ¡qué bueno sería quedarnos aquí! Si quieres, haremos aquí tres chozas, una para ti, otra para Moisés y otra para Elías”. Cuando aún estaba hablando, una nube luminosa los cubrió y de ella salió una voz que decía: “Este es mi Hijo muy amado, en quien tengo puestas mis complacencias; escúchenlo”. Al oír esto, los discípulos cayeron rostro en tierra, llenos de un gran temor. Jesús se acercó a ellos, los tocó y les dijo: “Levántense y no teman”. Alzando entonces los ojos, ya no vieron a nadie más que a Jesús. Mientras bajaban del monte, Jesús les ordenó: “No le cuenten a nadie lo que han visto, hasta que el Hijo del hombre haya resucitado de entre los muertos”

CONCURSO DE RELIGION BEE El año pasado nuestra estudiante, Mikaela Gonzalez, del Programa de Fomación de Fe, participó en el concurso de Religion Bee con otras parroquias (Queens y Brooklyn) y obtuvo el tercer lugar. POPE’S MESSAGE • MENSAJE DEL PAPA

“LISTEN TO JESUS, BECAUSE HE IS MY BELOVED SON”

Today the Gospel presents the Transfiguration. It is the second stage of the Lenten journey: the first was the temptation in the desert, last Sunday; the second, the Transfiguration. Jesus “took with him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain apart”. The mountain in the Bible represents a place close to God and an intimate encounter with Him, a place of prayer where one stands in the presence of the Lord. There up on the mount, Jesus is revealed to the three disciples as transfigured, luminescent and most beautiful. His face is so resplendent and his robes so white that Peter, awe-struck, wishes to stay there, as if to stop time. Suddenly from on high the voice of the Father resounds proclaiming Jesus to be his most beloved Son, saying “listen to him” . This word is important! Our Father said this to these Apostles, and says it to us as well: “listen to Jesus, be-cause he is my beloved Son”. This week let us keep this word in our minds and in our hearts: “listen to Jesus!”. And the Pope is not saying this, God the Father says it to everyone: to me, to you, to everyone, all people! It is like an aid for going forward on the path of Lent. “Listen to Jesus!”. Don’t forget.

“ESCUCHEN A JESÚS, PORQUE ÉL ES MI HIJO AMADO"

"Hoy el Evangelio presenta la Transfiguración. Es la segunda etapa del viaje cuaresmal: el domingo pasado, la primera fué la tentación en el desierto; La segunda, la Transfiguración. Jesús "llevó consigo a Pedro y a Jacobo y a su hermano Juan, y los condujo a un monte alto". La montaña en la Biblia representa un lugar cercano a Dios y un encuentro íntimo con Él, un lugar de oración donde uno está en la presencia del Señor. Allí en el monte, Jesús es revelado a los tres discípulos como transfigurado, luminiscente y más hermoso. Su rostro es tan resplandeciente y sus vestiduras tan blancas que Pe-dro, asombrado, desea permanecer allí, como para detener el tiem-po. De repente, desde lo alto, la voz del Padre resuena proclaman-do a Jesús como su Hijo más amado, diciendo "escuchenlo". ¡Esta palabra es importante! Nuestro Padre dijo esto a estos Apóstoles, y nos lo dice también a nosotros: "escuchen a Jesús, porque él es mi Hijo amado". Esta semana mantengamos esta palabra en nuestras mentes y en nuestros corazones: "escuchen a Jesús!". Y no es el Papa quien lo esta diciendono, sino, Dios el Padre quien nos lo dice a todos: ¡a mí, a ustedes, a todos, a todas las personas! Es como una ayuda para avanzar en el camino de la Cuaresma. "¡Escuchen a Jesús!". No lo olviden.
