Iowa Assessments:
The Iowa Assessments are achievement tests
that assess students’ Reading, Language,
Mathematics, Science and Social Studies
skills. The test results are in and over the
next several weeks we will be analyzing this
data. The data management system for the
assessment has many reports which can be
customized for each class, grades and the
entire school.
Results from this assessment will be used to
drive instruction and improve students’
learning. Achievement Tests help identify
students’ strengths and weaknesses. The
teachers and administration will use this
information to monitor students’ growth,
provide instructional grouping data and
improve instruction. This data will allow us
to make decisions on past and future
instructional strategies.
The teachers have been in serviced in order
to understand and explain the results to the
parents. I believe you will find the Student
Narrative and the Student Profile reports
very informative and easy to understand. A
school summary report will be provided to
you in the December newsletter.
PTG Lottery Calendar Fundraiser
The Lottery Calendar is back as the main
fundraiser for the 2019-2020 school year.
All families should have received 3 randomly
assigned lottery calendars in the mail in October.
Calendars are $35.00 each and provide the lucky
owner a chance to win at least $50.00 each night
during the 2020 calendar year. BONUS days do
exist . . . on these days the lucky owner of the
winning number may win either $100.00 or
$150.00. The calendar sale will end on
December 20, 2019. Don’t delay, get them
TODAY!
Calendars can be sold to family, friends,
neighbors and co-workers. They also make great
birthday and Christmas gifts. If you are in need
of more calendars, please contact Kelly
Morreale at [email protected]. If you do
not plan on selling your calendars, please return
them to the school office as soon as possible so
that others may purchase them. For every
calendar sold, 100% of the money will be
credited to your Family Share. GOOD LUCK!

“A Walk with the Saints”
An amazing opportunity is coming to St.
Louise! Numerous saint relics will be on
display in the school lobby on Thursday,
November 21st, Feast Day of the
Presentation of Our Blessed Mother in
the Temple, from 8:30am-2:15pm. Mrs.
Linda Nevins, a member of the Legion of
Mary, has graciously offered to be at our
school to present the relics. She has
approximately 100 relics within 4 cases,
including a piece of Christ’s crib, a piece
from the Blessed Mother’s cloak and relics
of the apostles and 4 evangelists.
Students and parents are encouraged to bring
sacramentals (medal, rosary, scapular,
prayer card) and when touched to the relics,
the sacramental becomes a 3rd class
relic. This sacramental then becomes a
powerful channel of grace to sanctify and
help one grow in holiness.
Attention all 6th
grade parents! Soon your child will be
bringing home
information about
participating in Living
Stations, a beloved
tradition for the 6th grade class. Rehearsals
will begin Sunday, January 26th from 6-8pm
and continue every Sunday evening for 10
weeks. This is a different schedule than in
past years, so we want to get word out now
for scheduling purposes. More details will
soon be coming via backpack mail!
St. Nick Shop It's that time of year again!!
Christmas is right around the
corner and you know what
that means...time for ST.

event will be on Thursday December 5th,
2019. More information will be coming out
in weekly folders and Option C emails, so
be on the lookout!!! As always, there will
be plenty of opportunities to help out so
watch for the SignUp genius as well! We
look forward to this being another fun and
successful event for the kids!!"

The First Grade Covered Dish Event took
place on Wednesday, November 13th. The

Terrific Trunk or Treat Time
Trunk or Treat DID happen on Saturday
October 26th and although it was a rainy and
chilly night, we did have a decent turnout
for the weather. The kids trunk or treated
around the parking lot while the parents
huddled under tents and had great
conversation. We want to give a big shout
out to everyone who came and decorated
their trunks. Despite the inclement weather,
we had families rally and decorate their
trunks. It was tough deciding, but the
following families won this year: The Siple
Family took First Place with a Wizard of Oz
theme; The Rodriguez Family took Second
Place with their ghostly themed trunk and
the Creely Family took Third with their
creativity of a claw machine. We know that
despite the weather, the kids looked great
and had a lot of fun. See you next year!
Donuts with
Dad Donuts with Dad
was a SWEET
success! The fourth graders and their Dads
or loved ones enjoyed Krispy Kreme donuts,
donut holes, and fruit while spending some
quality time with each other. What a special
way to spend a school morning! Thank you
to the Dads for making special time to spend
with your fourth graders.
