DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY

April 23, 2017

We will be celebrating Divine Mercy Sunday on April 23 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm

Divine Mercy Sunday: St. Faustina’s Diary records 14 occasions when Jesus requested that a Feast of Mercy (Divine Mercy Sunday) be observed, for exam-ple:

My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the Fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete for-giveness of sins and punishment. … Let no soul fear to draw near to Me. … It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mer-cy. (Diary, no. 699)

On May 5, 2000, five days after the canonization of St. Faustina, the Vatican decreed that the Sec-ond Sunday of Easter would henceforth be known as Divine Mercy Sunday.

Please invite all your friends and family.. All are welcome and we hope to see you all there.

The Influence of Catholic Education on the Life of a Child Public schools cannot compare with the educational environment we provide at Holy Family Catholic School. Our students are well prepared by our academic program. We consistently re-ceive positive feedback from both Montini Catholic High School and Immaculate Conception Col-lege Prep on how well our students perform. At Holy Family, special subjects like Technology, Art, Music, PE, and Spanish, and extracurricular activities including athletics, choir, chess, engi-neering, and guitar enrich the students’ academic experience. Our dedicated teachers, instruc-tional assistants, Social Worker, and Interventionist coordinate efforts to meet the individual needs of all students. Furthermore, with plans to create an integrated library and technology lab, expand the Spanish language program, and hire a resource specialist, HFCS is ready to help your child meet the challenges of the future.

However, what really sets HFCS apart is our Catholic culture. In the Diocese of Joliet, our motto is: We Teach More! We strive to help our students see all that is true, good, and beautiful in the world and help them grow in their personal relationships with Jesus. In so doing, we further the mission of the Church to develop modern day Disciples of Christ. At HFCS, students realize they belong to something bigger. They begin to see how they can change the world. Why Holy Fami-ly Catholic School?
