11 Week Process Everyone Welcome!

Bring a Friend!

Explora La Vida, La Fe, el Propósito

ALPHA

We look forward to meeting you there and to share the wonderful sto-ries that bring us all together in this journey of faith.

If you have any questions please call Gina Zepeda, RCIA Coordinator (626) 330-2269, Ext. 230.

WILL BE HONORED

All parishioners are invited to join the Serra Clubs of Los Angeles at the annual Ordinati Lunch where we will celebrate the ordination of Fr. Spencer and Fr. Egren and all the newly ordained priests of the Arch-diocese of Los Angeles. The luncheon is Wednesday, September 12th at the Sportsmen’s Lodge, Coldwater Canyon, Studio City. Reception at 11 am and lunch at Noon. Tickets are $50. For reservations: Pat Liv-ingston [email protected]

The joyous day we long awaited has finally arrived! On June 23, 2018, the St. John Vianney Community cele-brated the Dedication Mass of our new Church. This day could not have

been attained without the prayers and financial support of our wonderful community. We are now in phase II of our construction project, which is scheduled to be ongoing until October 2018. Due to the many obstacles and delays along the way con-struction costs have risen an estimated $2-3 million over our original budget. Now, more than ever we ask for you to prayerfully consider fulfilling, ex-tending or making a new pledge to the Rise Again Campaign. Please visit the church website www.sjvhh.org to make a pledge or a payment. You can also visit the parish office to make your donation, or place it in the bright pink envelope at church. Statements are mailed monthly. If you make your pledge payments on-line, you will not receive a monthly statement unless you request one by calling the Campaign Office. If you have any questions about the campaign or your ac-count, please call Gina Zepeda, 626-330-2269, Ext. 240.

COMMEMORATIVE BRICK FUNDRAISER

Because of construction delays, the ini-tial walkway installation has been

changed to late September. Even though the dead-line has passed, you can still purchase a brick! The cost has increased to $350. These orders will not be included in the initial installation of the walkway. Bricks will need to be engraved on-site, which is why the cost has increased. Please turn in your order forms to the Corpus Christi Center. Forms are available on the SJV website and at the Corpus Christi Center.

For more information, please call: Bob & Sharon Altman 626-336-2321

MUSIC MINISTRY NEWS

The Adult Choir and Children’s Choirs are beginning their choral season and we would like for you to be part of our musical families. All you need is to

• lead and enhance the Assembly in singing the hymns and acclamations with excitement and de-votion,

• enhance the proclamation of sacred scripture through the Responsorial Psalm, • sing music of the church’s repertoire, past and pre sent, that were composed for choirs of all ages, • help nourish and strengthen our commitment of faith, • learn about the teachings of our Lord through mu sic, meet new people and make new and lasting friends. The Liturgy becomes more exciting when you take an active part, sharing your God given talents as a singer or instrumentalist.

Children’s Choir ministers at the 12 Noon Liturgy at the interval of every 2 to 3 weeks. Rehearsals begin on Thursday, September 6th from 6:00 to 7:15 pm.
