PASTOR’S COLUMN

Our parish festival was beyond a success! We did
exceptionally well and were busy from 3pm 8:30pm in
the kitchen nonstop. There are so many out there that
deserve special thanks from the festival committee to
each and every person that was there to help. From the
staff and myself THANK you! Not only was it a lot of
work for everyone, but a whole lot of fun as well.
Events such as these bring us closer together as a parish
family and a great way to meet some of our new
parishioners.

The actual numbers will take a few weeks as we need to
deduct our costs out from what we collected. This often
takes a bit of time because things like beer and some
food items were returnable and we have to wait on the
‘adjusted’ bill to properly deduct it from our profits.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE.

Second, this weekend we celebrate World Mission
Sunday. It’s a time that we generously support the
efforts of spreading the Gospel throughout the world
right from our homes. Please be generous.

Third, Saturday October 30th is my official instillation
Mass as Pastor of St. John Cantius Church with Bishop
Malesic. It will be during our regularly scheduled
Saturday 4 pm Mass. We will have a social immediately
following the Mass in the lower school hall and
everyone is invited. Please come and join us for this
historic event marking the 9th pastor of St. John Cantius
Church since its inception in 1898. Hope to see
everyone there.

A CHUCKLE ABOUT MY JEANS

I was at the customerservice desk, returning a pair of
jeans that was too tight. As I finally arrived at the
counter, the clerk asked me, “Was anything wrong with
them?” Feeling a bit embarrassed I said “As a matter of
fact, YES . . . They hurt my feelings….”

FAMILY PERSPECTIVES

Do you ever feel needy but are too confused or
embarrassed to ask for help? Be like the blind beggar in
today’s Gospel who was able to cry out for help from
Jesus. In hiding our weaknesses, we hide ourselves
from God and others. We miss the chance to find
support, assistance, and healing.

ZIARNO SŁOWA BOZEGO

Dzisiaj słyszeliśmy odpowiedż Jezusa na bardzo ważne
pytanie: „Nauczycielu, które przykazanie w Prawie jest
największe”. Jezus odpowiedział: „Będziesz miłował
Pana Boga swego całym swoim sercem, całą duszą i
całym umysłem”. To jest największe i pierwsze
przykazanie.
wszystkie przykazania. Boga musimy miłować. On
daje im pocałunek pokoju i przebaczenia. Jeżeli Bóg
nas tak miłuje, to nie pozostaje nic innego, jak tylko
miłować Go wzajemnie.
