My Dear Parishioners, One of the hallmarks of the papacy of the Pope St. John Paul II was his mes-sage, “Be not afraid.” It was a message he spoke

to young and old, to those in the developed worlds as well as those in the third world. He spoke that mes-sage to peoples facing turmoil as well as to those living in a world of comfort. He bid us not to be afraid of any-thing: not ourselves, not our own moral failure, not even our personal lack of faith. He recognized that one of the greatest threats to our developing as a person in relationship to God is fear. In today’s liturgy we hear Jesus addressing the subject of fear. The words are addressed to his apostles, just after he commissioned them to go out and proclaim the Gospel. He realized that he was sending them out into a dangerous world. Still, he assures them that they do not need to be afraid. "Do not fear those who deprive the body of life but cannot destroy the soul,” he tells them. He then goes on to speak of God’s fatherly care for us. Jesus observes, “Are not two sparrows sold for next to nothing? Yet not a single sparrow falls to the ground without your Father's consent.” He goes on to say, “As for you, every hair of your head has been counted; so do not be afraid of anything.” What a beautiful re-flection on the meaning of Divine Providence and the watchful care God has for you and me! He knows our every action and our every thought, and he wants the best for each one of us. We are so valuable in God’s sight that he will not allow us to perish. Consider for a moment the role that fear plays in your life. We all have things that we fear; this is just a part of our human existence. But do your apprehensions sometimes hold you back? Do you sometimes miss opportunities for doing good deeds because of some fear or misgiving? Are you sometimes afraid of what other people are thinking about you or how they will react to you? Does fear inhibit you from attaining some personal goal or striving after your ideals? Our Lord calls each one to be a part of his kingdom by striving for justice, peace and understanding. His watchful care insures us that nothing should impede us from this task. Today, let us turn to God seeking to come to a deeper appreciate of his fatherly care and love for us! Sincerely yours, Monsignor Radocha P. S. A very happy Father’s Day to all our Fathers!!

TWELFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Procedures for Daily Mass: We will resume celebrating daily Mass with a congregation beginning Monday, June 1. All daily Masses will be celebrated in the main church so that we can maintain the possibility of proper social distancing. 1.) Please wear a mask. The Church is a public place. 2.) There will be some hand sanitizer available in the rear of the church. We strongly recom-mend, however, that you bring your own hand sanitizer so as to avoid contagion from the pump bottles. 3.) To maintain social distancing, every 2nd and 3rd pews have been roped off. While families and married couples may sit together, please do not sit closer than 6 feet to the person next to you. 4.) Please try to sit in the center section if pos-sible. 5.) Holy Communion will be distributed after Mass. When the priest calls you forward, please maintain proper distancing in the center aisle. 6.) Please do not remove your mask until ready to receive Holy Communion. We strongly en-courage that you receive Communion in the hand as a sanitary measure. Communion on the tongue is permitted. 7.) The priest will have a bottle of hand sanitiz-er next to him. He may sanitize his hands be-tween communicants if he feels it is necessary. 8.) After receiving Communion, you may re-turn to the church to make your thanksgiving af-ter Communion, or you may do this privately in your car before leaving. 9.) Please be conscious that after each Mass or any other gathering, the church needs to be sani-tized. We ask that you be considerate to the per-son doing this work by exiting the church soon after Mass. Kindly do not leave anything in the pews or gathering area. Please do not congregate with anyone on church grounds after Mass. This would violate CDC guidelines. Thank you for your consideration. Please be safe! Please be respectful!

St. Jane Parish is pleased to welcome Anh Do Hoang Mai, a semi-narian who is presently studying for the Diocese of Allentown at St. Charles Borromeo Semi-nary in Philadelphia.

Anh Do joined us this past week and he will be with us until August 11 of this year. We are happy to have Anh Do with us! These are unusual times, and Anh Do will not be able to help with some of the traditional parish groups and activities that have had to be can-celled because of COVID-19. Never-theless, he will be helping us get through these unusual times! If you see Anh Do, please greet him and welcome him to our parish.

A Plea and a Special Thank You from Monsignor Radocha I would like to express my personal gratitude to all who have con-tinued to support St. Jane financially during these most difficult times!! I know that many of you are suffering financially because of layoffs and other problems associated with COVID-19. We as well continue to depend on your Sunday offerings for our day-to-day

expenses. Many of you have mailed or dropped off contributions, and still others have opted to sup-port our parish through electronic donations. If you would like to contribute electronically, simply go to our website, scroll down to “donate,” and follow the simple directions. Again, thanks to all for your help as we continue to try to keep this ship afloat! Because of our ongoing deficit, we have also begun a special “COVID-19 Relief Fund." I want to thank all of you who have so generously contributed toward it! As it stands presently, $125,003 has been contributed toward this fund, reducing the deficit in giving to just over $55,000. If you have not yet made your contribution, please consider helping your parish in this particular time of need! Again, I want thank all of you who have so generously responded to this appeal, and to the many parishioners who continue to support our parish on a regular basis by means of weekly enve-lopes or online giving!

FAMILIES MATTER: Health Care Professionals: God bless all those who assist us in caring for our health. They are our neighbors, friends, and even family members. We pray that God will con-tinue to assist them in their efforts to provide healing and comfort in body and spirit. You pray for my family and I’ll pray for yours.

Procedure for Saturday evening and Sun-day Morning “Parking Lot” Masses (Masses: Saturday 5 PM. Sunday 9 AM and 11 AM.) · Please come early – it will take a few moments to get parked and oriented. · You will be greeted by an usher / attendant in a yellow vest who will give you a parish bulletin and di-rect you to the north end of the parking lot (between the church and Rt. 22.) · When you park your vehicle, please try to leave an empty space between you and the next car. · There are two ways you can participate in the Mass: tune your car radio to FM 97.3 or bring your personal device and hear and watch the Mass live-streamed on our parish website. FM will reach only the north side or the parking lot ,or the area of the parking lot between the church and rectory. · Please do not leave your car until Communion for any reason other than an urgent situation. The bathrooms off the Msgr. Gobitas room will be open for those who need them. · Be conscious that while you are in a parking lot, you are nonetheless at church. Please be reverent and respectful of those who are worshipping around you. · Only those directly participating in the liturgy will be in the church. · Holy Communion will be distributed by the priests and a deacon following the Mass. Please wait until you are called by an usher / attendant and follow the markings on the pavement for 6 ft. social distanc-ing. · The priest or deacon may take a moment be-tween communicants to sanitize his hands if he feels that there has been any physical contact. Please be patient. · There will be receptacles for your weekly offer-ing located close to the communion stations. You may make your contribution after receiving communion. · It is highly recommended that you receive Com-munion in the hand with hands outstretched, one hand over the other. While Communion on the tongue is permitted, it is deemed to be less hygienic. · You may make your thanksgiving after Com-munion in your car. Please exit the parking lot careful-ly, realizing that some people may still be moving to-ward the Communion stations. · It is imperative that there must be no gathering before or after the Mass.
