New readers always welcome to join this warm welcoming group!
Our organizing committee has been planning and arranging speakers for 2019
Dennis Green is coordinator and has organized for Fr. Noel Connelly to present on update on what is happening with The Australian Plenary Council to be held in 2020.
Our submissions hopefully will help facilitate renewed perspectives in the life of our Church in the years before us.
One pressing issue to be examined is “Will the Bishops listen to what ideas are being prepared and refined for this Council”
A strategic member of the facilitating team, Fr. Noel Connelly will address these issues.
Wednesday 6th March at 8.00pm at the old "Pumphouse Hotel” now called St Andrews Hotel in Nicholson Street, Fitzroy
The renewal of paths and a public facilities
work at St Carthage’s Church commenced
on Thursday 24th January 2019.
Parishioner Robert Simione is our architect
and Gary Utri will be our coordinating
builder.
Occupational Health and Safety regulations
will be in place, with a temporary toilet available on the Brunswick side of
the Church.
Call for Volunteer Sunday Collection
Counters for this year! We wish to draw up a new roster of
counters for this year
The roster will commence in February
We need 3 counters to count the collection money after the 5pm Sunday Mass. We hope to have enough volunteers that means a roster turn every two months.
Counting usually takes between forty minutes and one hour.
We plan to have a thank you drinks in February that will bring our volunteers together. We will also give a practical demonstration of the counting procedure. Old and new counters please let Fr. Elligate know that you wish to help out.

2018 Christmas Appeal
Sincere thanks to Fr Michael and the parishioners of St Carthage’s Church for the generosity and support of the 2018 Christmas appeal. We can report that to date we have received $25,000 for the appeal. This will enable the Conference to continue working with the many disadvantaged people of the inner-city suburbs, tertiary students with disabilities, and school students in our region and in remote Indigenous communities, as well as our emergency calls.
Our first meeting for the year is on Monday 18 February 2019 and we would welcome any new and interested potential members. We meet at The Graduate Union of The University of Melbourne, 220 Leicester St, Carlton from 7.00 – 8.00pm. For more information please contact our President David 0412 553 720 or Peter 0413 754 523.
