Pastor’s Reflection This past weekend we had an amazing first reading, so fitting for our own historical moment. When faced with an extraordinary trial, lack of water, the Israelites fell into fear and grumbling, “why did you ever make us leave Egypt”. With the COVID -19 pandemic sweeping the globe, we too have been gripped by fear, and maybe a bit of grumbling. We find ourselves wondering, “where is God in all of this, has He abandoned us?” Moses’ answer to the Israelites is the answer we need to hear today…God is here, He is with us, “‘Strike the rock, and the water will flow from it for the people to drink.’ This Moses did.” No matter the darkness or trial, God is there for those who turn to Him in trust. In these days of social distancing and self-isolation, know that you are never alone. Jesus is with you. God loves you. And by the power of His Holy Spirit, we will all journey through this challenging moment to a resurrected moment that is beyond our current imagining. I keep all of our families in prayer, and will lift each of you up at my daily Mass. Stay united in prayer! My love to St. Anne’s,
Reflexión del Párroco El fin de semana pasado tuvimos una primera lectura increíble, tan adecuada para nuestro propio momento histórico. Cuando los Israelitas se enfrentaron a una tribulación extraordinaria, faltándoles el agua, cayeron en el miedo y renegando, "¿por qué nos hicieron abandonar Egipto?" Con la pandemia de COVID -19 arrasando el mundo, también nos hemos sentido atrapados por el miedo y tal vez un poco de quejas. Nos preguntamos: "¿Dónde está Dios en todo esto? ¿Nos ha abandonado?"
