In this booklet you will find details of all the lunchtime and after-school activities available during the Spring Term 2020. The purpose of the Activity Programme is to supplement your academic studies here at Beechwood and, above all else, to have fun. There are two activity sessions that you can attend on a termly basis.

• Lunch time Sessions: 1pm or 1.15pm or 1.30pm • Afterschool Session: 4.15pm – 5.00pm

There are several points that need a little explanation: • All pupils in years 7 – 10 are expected to attend at least two of the activities listed in this booklet. • Commitment is expected from everyone involved in the Activity Programme. • Once you have decided on your chosen activity, you will be expected to attend on a regular basis.

• Attendance will be monitored, and any unauthorised absences will be reported to your Form Tutor. • If there is a maximum limit, as in sports teams, then students will be selected by staff.

• Study sessions must also be selected if you will attend regularly.

• Paid activities (££) must be paid for in advance and a half terms notice is required to end an activity.

Payment must be included with the permission letter that must be completed before the activity commences.

SIGNING UP PROCESS All you must do is read through the activities and then check the details. For a quick glance use the colour code (shown at the bottom of each page) to see what days of the week the activity is on. You could also look at the timetable. During the first week of term there will be a signing-up session where you will input your chosen activities online. Make sure you have discussed your activities and have arrangements for getting home. You will then need to your chosen activities in your planner. Have an ACTIVE term. Mr Kershaw Acting Headteacher
