around the body repeating this process.

Thursday

Activity 1 Relaxation. Grown up to read through. “Imagine a huge, still, calm and sparkling lake. A soft breeze blows over the lake and you watch the ripples across the surface of the water. You watch the boats on the water, sailing past quietly and slowly. Concentrate on the waves the boats leave behind. The lake returns to stillness again. Take some deep breaths. The calm of the lake washes over you. Your body feels relaxed and still. You look around the lake and notice the colourful flowers and the green of the trees. You feel the wind blowing and the sun warm on your skin. Take some deep breaths. After a few moments, stretch your legs and arms. Take in a deep breath now and exhale slowly. Give your body a big stretch.”

Activity 2 Music “When it Falls” by Zero 7 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6C8Q9pXteK0 Invite the children to sit comfortably and close their eyes. Listen to the instrumental piece of music and concentrate on their breath, breathing in and out. Listen to the music again and take a pencil for a walk. Making lines and loops as they listen to the rise and fall of the music.

Activity 3 Share a joke! Spend some time telling jokes to each other. Here are some to get you started… Why did the boy throw his clock out the window? Because he wanted to see time fly. Knock, knock. Who’s there? Scold. Scold who? Scold outside, let me in! Where do cows go on Friday nights? They go to the moo-vies! Why did the cookie go to the nurse? Because he felt crummy! What kind of room doesn’t have doors? A mushroom!

Friday script – Pirate theme yoga. Remember to hold the yoga positions for 5 deep breaths. The pirates had been at sea for many months and they were getting rather bored. They had sailed as far south as they could go and anchored their ship. They took out their telescopes and looked around. On a nearby iceberg they saw black and white creatures. “PENGUINS AHOY” shouted one enthusiastic pirate. All the pirates rushed to look. PENGUIN POSE. Suddenly a pirate noticed great shadows falling across the ship, she looked up and saw huge birds, they were albatrosses. ALBATROSS POSE. The albatrosses saw the pirates and the penguins having lots of fun. They decided it must be a parade and joined in by flying up above. The pirates sailed north, as they were beginning to feel quite chilly. All of a sudden, dolphins joined them, jumping in and out of the water. DOLPHIN POSE. The dolphins jumped for joy as the pirates cheered and waved. The dolphins were so quick they had soon jumped far away from the ship and the pirates sailed on. The pirates slowed the boat and decided to eat their lunch. They sat and talked about the creatures they had seen that day. “Oh no!” exclaimed one pirate as he dropped his cheese and pickle sandwich into the water. As quick as a flash, a fin appeared and snap! The sandwich was gone! When the pirates looked, a frenzy of sharks had arrived, eager for more cheese and pickle sandwiches. SHARK POSE. When the sharks realised the pirates weren’t going to share their lunch and began to feel bored. The swordfish saw the sharks and they tickled the sharks with their pointy noses and made them giggle. This made the sharks forget all about their hungry tummies! SWORDFISH POSE. An octopus saw the curious commotion and followed to see what was going on. He decided he would like to be a part of it too! When any of the younger animals got tired, he carried them in one of his eight arms. OCTOPUS POSE. A swarm of jellyfish saw that the octopus had his arms full so they came to help. The jellyfish invited the other tired, little animals to rest on top of them as they floated along. JELLYFISH POSE. Soon the sea creatures and the pirates became tired and they all decided they would like a nap. The sea creatures swam away and the pirates found a comfy spot on the top deck to think about all they had seen that day. Relax. Take a few moments to relax your body and mind. Take deep breaths and be still.
