Cherry Creek again offers a unique and exciting Activities and Sports Camps

Program. The teaching staff, for the most part, is a composite of certificated

teachers.They have contributed to the continued success of the Activities and

Sports Camps Program.

Activities are being offered at many Cherry Creek Schools. Activities and

Sports Camps are open to all residents in the Metropolitan area (not restricted

only to students in the Cherry Creek School District only)..

Most camps will be offered from June, 2015 until August, 2015. We

look forward to your participation.

GRADES AND AGES SPECIFIED ARE 2014-2015 SCHOOLYEAR (unless

otherwise specified.

You are encouraged to register as soon as possible, not waiting until the first

day of camp. Class size is limited for many camps, although not always stated.

Students waiting to register on the first day of camp may not be accepted if camp is full.

SCHOOLS.” (RETURNED CHECKS SUBJECT TO $30.00 FEE.)

LOCATION OF CAMPS

Although camp may be under the heading of one school, camp may be

held at another school or at a stadium. PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF

‘LOCATION’.

FULL CAMPS

If a camp becomes full, it will be noted on the website.

CANCELLED CAMPS

If a camp is cancelled, it will be noted on the website. If registration form has

been processed, you will be notified and a full refund will be issued.

PAYMENT Full payment for camps is due with registration forms, either by check or credit

card. Student pays full tuition, even if he/she cannot attend all days of camp..

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY If the Summer Sports Office cancels a class, you will receive a full refund. If you

must withdraw for any reason, a request must be made within a week after the

camp begins. No refunds given if not notified in specified time period. You

will be refunded your money, MINUS $25.00 per class. Refunds take

approximately 4 weeks. TO CANCEL CALL 720-554-4343 (do not e mail

request).

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

There will be NO bus transportation provided by the Cherry Creek School

District for Summer Sports Camps.

**Beginners and Advanced Groups meet at the same dates and duration. Movement

between groups is acceptable and encouraged for incoming runners. ON YOUR

Group 1: Beginners (12 years or over)

This camp caters to athletes who are just starting to become involved in run-

ning. Emphasis will be on building up endurance and the summer goal is to be

able to run a 5K by the end of the camp. Great for those who are looking to stay in shape or get ready for their first season of cross country.

Group 2: Advanced (13 years or over)

This camp is for more advanced runners who are looking to improve their

times. Emphasis will be placed on distance training and interval work to get experienced runners to the next level. Recommended for athletes who have

raced and trained before

Registration includes a t-shirt, craft each day and a pep Rally on the last day of

camp. Please wear athletic attire, such as shorts and a t-shirt, as well as tennis

shoes. Please bring a water bottle for breaks.

you! Photo opportunities will be available with the Varsity Poms as well as a

fun craft to take home and remember your experience. Please wear athletic

attire such as shorts and a t-shirt as well as either jazz or tennis shoes.

1017-CHERRY CREEK ADVANCED POMS INTENSIVE

This course is designed for the more intermediate/advanced dancer with 3+ years of dance, going into grade 6-8. It will be taught by the girls on the current Cherry

Creek Poms team and Varsity Coach. It is 3 days filled with technique in both

pom and jazz, as well as learning a fun routine to share with parents on the last day. Geared toward the intermediate/advanced dancer who has mastered the

following steps: double pirouette, toe touch, grande jettes, and basic pom

technique. We will be working on mastering multiple turns, turns in second, advanced leaps and jumps, and much much more!! Please wear dance appropriate

attire (shorts and a t-shirt are fine) as well as either jazz or tennis shoes. Bring a

water bottle and snacks and light lunch.

THEATER CAMPS

The Summer Theater Camps this summer will be located at 2 sites:

Cherry Creek High School and Liberty Middle School., although the evening

performances are held at Liberty Middle School. They are designed to give

the participants an overall experience in theater. During the camp, students

will audition, rehearse and perform a theatrical performance. The play will

be selected specifically for each class to best fit the needs of the students.

All evening performances are held at Liberty Middle School. If you have additional questions, please call Frank Pavlakovich, Summer

Mountain Biking is one of the fastest growing outdoor activities in the country.

Mountain Biking can help you be physically fit in an outdoor setting, while having fun at the same time. This class is intended to give people the chance to

experience the great network of trails around Cherry Creek Reservoir. This class

will teach bicycle safety and etiquette, as well as basic techniques of riding, trailside repairs, and basic bike maintenance. The best way to become a better

cyclist is to get out and ride with others in a safe and supportive environment.

Do you want to get fit for the fall cross country season and have fun while

doing so? We welcome all abilities of runners, from first-timers to those who have run in middle school. Our experienced Smoky Hill coaches invite you to

join us for summer conditioning and coaching. Participants will learn proper

running, stretching and strengthening methods; proper footwear and clothing (one of our coaches is a trained Runners’ Roost Associate); hydration and

nutrition; individualized body maintenance; and team building. Our coaches are

USA Track and Field (USATF) and Colorado High School Coaches’ Association (CHSCA) members and two are USATF Level I and II coaches.

Coaches have trained for and competed in every race distance from the mile,

through the marathon, to the 135 mile ultra-marathon distance. Running is our passion, and one we want to share with our next generation of Buffalo runners!

If you decide to run cross country for Smoky Hill, you would be joining a team

Emphasis on team offense and defense. This is an intensive camp for players who

have competitive volleyball experience and players who can consistently execute basic skills, such as the overhand serve, hitting footwork and arm swing,

defensive/offensive knowledge of positions and the ability to pass with accuracy.

This camp is designed around the needs of the youth runner. This camp

introduces new and young runners to a structured and developmentaly

appropriate routine that will both prep them for cross country, as well and track and field. Athletes will leave this experience with improved leg speed for the

800/1600 meter track events as well as the endurance to run a competitive 5K.

Athletes of all abilities and backgrounds are welcome. This is a great way to stay in shape while making new friends and getting exposed to your future

Cougar Family!

** Athletes who have a more extensive running background and wish to run

more frequently are welcome to join the next level (Session 2) instead of this level since it meets 5 days a week and for longer periods.

Equipment Needed: watch, water bottle, weather appropriate clothes, quality

running shoes and a good attitude. We take care of the rest!

We welcome all athletes looking to get in shape for the upcoming fall season.

Whether you have run competitively in the past or never at all, you are welcome to be a part of the Cherokee Trail Cross Country family. We have a

program that is set up to create success for those athletes looking to run at the highest levels as well as those looking to grow and improve personal fitness.

Mileage will have a gradual and progressive build to the end of the season that

caters to each individual and his/her ability. This is by far the most fun you can have getting in shape for a varsity sport. All athletes will need a quality pair of

running shoes, weather appropriate clothes, watch, water bottle, and a strong

work ethic. We welcome al athletes who are starting their 9-12 grade years at Cherokee Trail High School!

will create original productions based on stories that need to be

told in our community. Through indoor and outdoor science

experiments, Shakespearean comedies and tragedies, and lessons

in design, participants will write, design and star in their own

productions. DEADLINE TO REGISTER: June 1 Minimum # of participants to have session 1 is 20. If we do not

reach that number, you will be notified that session is cancelled. Session 2: July 13-24 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Evening Performance on July 24 at 7:00 p.m. Students will spend the first few days preparing auditions for a

musical production, chosen specifically to best fit the needs of the

participants. After casting, the students will discover scientific

solutions to theatrical problems in order to produce a musical

FULL PADS REQUIRED, INCLUDING HELMET, shoulderpads,

mouthpiece and all leg and hip pads.

This camp is designed to teach full contact football fundamentals in a controlled

setting, with 3 days of non-contact and contact football drills. Each day will

consist of 1 hour of individual drills focusing on the fundamentals of blocking, tackling, ball handling and running, followed by 90 minutes of team oriented

practice and scrimmages. Individual players will be placed on a grade appropriate

team, and scrimmages will occur by grade level. Teams will be coached by Staff and Varsity players from all three high schools. Coaches of Youth Teams are not

allowed to participate in the camp by AYL rules; however, they may watch and

provide camp staff with any necessary materials for their team.

OUR CAMPS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR TEAM BUILDING AND UNITY,

AS WELL AS INDIVIDUAL GROWTH.
