Background & OpportunitySilicon Valley Community Foundation will proudly host its second Innovation Conference Sept. 16-18, 2018, in magnificent San Francisco. The conference will bring together philanthropists, grantmakers, foundations and technology thought leaders to address the significant ways that the development of artificial intelligence (AI) is affecting our society and impacting the communities we serve.

SVCF’s inaugural Innovation Conference in 2016 featured enriching conversations and learning opportunities shared by more than 300 people from eight countries. We look forward to building upon those outcomes at the 2018 conference, which will look at the impacts of AI on various issues related to education, health, jobs and the economy, and the use of big data for social good.

Attendees of the 2016 Innovation Conference were overwhelmingly positive about their experience, with 79 percent rating the event as excellent or very good, and an additional 17 percent rating it as good in a post-event survey. When asked what they liked most about the conference, attendees cited the diverse and impressive speakers, discussion of important issues and solutions, and more.
