The Tri-County Urban League (TCUL) is a non-partisan 501(c)3 social service agency that has served Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford and McLean counties for the past 53 years. We are an affiliate of the National Urban League and a member agency of the Heart of Illinois United Way. Program services are offered in the areas of employment, education and counseling.

EMPLOYMENTThe TCUL assists low-income people to secure gainful employment through job readiness services: resume preparation, interviewing skills, job search assistance and job referrals. We partner with Men’s Wearhouse to operate the Men’s Career Closet, providing male job seekers with interview attire to make a good first impression.

The Urban League offers job training utilizing online career tools focused on assessing, enhancing and increasing the knowledge and abilities important for workplace success. We also offer job training through the Solar Pipeline Training Program, which trains individuals to become certified solar panel installers.

EDUCATIONThe Education Department prepares clients to improve academic skills in reading, math, English and social studies to pass the GED exam. After-school tutoring services are available for students in grades K-12, as well as some college-level course assistance.
