SERVITE DOMINO IN TIMORE

Again I’ve been touched and amazed by the generosity of our parishioners! Several donors came forward to aid in the restoration of the historic processional crucifix. With the funds offered, I’m also able to attend to additional small restoration projects. Your generosity is helping to advance the glory of God through the liturgy as we carry on the unique legacy of our great parish! Over the past couple of months, I’ve been getting up to speed with the major repair work that has been carried out on the foundation of our church building. This work was the result of the building committee that Fr. Klores formed around 2015. After my review, I realized that there are many details that I can only gain by consulting seasoned parishioners! As result, I’ve begun to once again form a parish building committee. We will formulate a comprehensive plan to assess and attend to the needs of our historic properties. Perhaps you have historical knowledge of our parish, or expertise in engineering or construction. If so, you might be interested in serving on this new building committee. Please contact me for more details. Allow me to offer a brief update regarding our parish finances. I recently learned that due to the hard work by Fr. Bozant, the financial situation he uncovered may give rise to an insurance claim to our benefit. The success of the claim is not certain; I will keep you updated. As always, if you have any questions about our financial state, please contact me. I’d like, once again, to express my gratitude to Mr. Rene Miller and Mr. Ian Gunn for their help with our website and Twitter feeds. Their help has allowed us to keep up-to-date information available to all those who have digital contact with our parish. I’m also grateful to Mr. Paul Gordon for lending his photographic skills! The photo album on our website called “Mass and Benediction” contains the fruit of his volunteer labor. Enjoy his handiwork below! ~ Fr. O’Brien
