PERSONAL NARRATIVE REVIEW

• A personal narrative tells the true story of something that happened to you. 

• Personal narratives are enjoyable to read and should use vivid/descriptive language.  

PERSONAL NARRATIVE ESSAY REVIEW

Personal narrative essays should include the following:

• Introduction; 1 attention grabber and a thesis statement

• 3 Body Paragraphs; explaining major points and providing supporting details

• Conclusion; Restate thesis, summarize main points, leave the reader with something to consider.

• Begin writing a personal narrative to the prompt below. Remember, what things are needed to write a personal narrative essay.

Prompt: Some things make our lives easier, and other things make our lives more entertaining. Write a personal narrative about a creation or a discovery that has changed the way you live.  Be sure to describe in detail what this creation or discovery is, why it’s important, and what your life would be like if you did not have it.
