Q: How competent would I need to be before the Intensive Training course to pass in such a short period of time?

A: You must be able to ski / ride a blue run in a comfortable parallel or in linked turns.

Q: Is there a skill requirement for the three-month Ultimate Experience course?

A: No – you can be a beginner and come on our course… Your ability will be assessed at the start of the course and you’ll be placed in the appropriate group.

Q: Where can I work afterwards with my qualifications?

A: The various qualifications obtained whilst on a Ski le Gap Adventures programme are invaluable and are recognized internationally. Our snow staff can assist you in finding work as a ski instructor post Ski le Gap Adventures programmes. Go work in South America, Japan or New Zealand for a season – how cool is that?

Q: Once I have completed the Ski le Gap Adventures programme in Tremblant, am I able to teach in Europe, South America, Japan or New Zealand with my qualifications?

A: CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance) and CASA (Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors) are internationally recognized qualifications. We have had clients teach in ski resorts all over the world after completing Ski le Gap Adventures programmes.

Q: After qualifying as an instructor would the student be able to stay in Tremblant and earn some money during the rest of the season?

A: To work in Canada, you will require a valid work visa. You must apply for a Canadian work visa as early as the January prior to coming out on the Ski le Gap Adventures programme. There is a limited number of working holiday visas issued per calendar year and they usually run out very quickly.

Students who are interested in working after their Ski le Gap Adventures programme usually get together and decide where to find accommodations. Some Gappers remain in Tremblant and teach at the snow school or work at any of the ski resort’s pubs, cafes or hotels. Others head off to New Zealand or South America to teach/work there. We have several instructors and past Gappers who can help you with additional information if teaching, skiing or riding abroad is something that interests you.
