Event Information: 1. Date: August 21st 20112. Details: Salsa Bhangra is an event
which SIA does with Latin Dance Club (LDC) and Latin American Students Association (LASA) during week of welcome.
3. It blends the two cultures and dance forms- Salsa and Bhangra together.
4. Approximate Attendance: 500 5. Venue: MSC Ballroom6. Duration: 4 hours
Event Information: 1. Date: August 15th 20112. Details: SIA celebrated Indian
Independence day by hoisting flag. 3. It was followed by new student
orientation where SIA members gave a presentation about different aspects of US and student life in USF. This was followed by Q/A round for the students

Event Information: 1. Date: September 9th 20112. Details: Welcome Dinner is hosted by
SIA which helps the Fall students to mingle with the seniors and have a fun time.
3. It also involved few ice breaker games with the students and some dance performances by the senior students.

Event Information: 1. Date: September 15th and 16th 20112. Details: Cricket is one of the popular
games in Asia, Carribean Islands and Europe.
3. This tournament is organized to promote game of cricket on campus and helps to bring more than 200 players from different national backgrounds.
4. 20 teams with a squad of 15 players participated in this tournament.
4. Approximate Attendance: 3505. Venue: USF Sycamore and Magnolia Fields6. Duration: 2 days
Event Information: 1. Date: October 15th 20112. Details: Garba is a famous dance form of
Indian culture which is celebrated by SIA with Hindu Students Council.
3. A live Indian band was invited for the event which was followed by snacks for all students
4. Approximate Attendance: 4505. Venue: USF Recreation Center Upper Gym6. Duration: 4 hours
Event Information: 1. Date: October 28th 20112. Details: This is SIA’s flagship event in
which we invite everyone to showcase their talents in form of dance, singing, music, stand up shows etc.
3. We had 20 different performances from students in USF

Event Information: 1. Date: January 26th 20112. Details: SIA celebrated Indian Republic
day by hoisting flag and distribution of snacks and tea.

Event Information: 1. Date: February 5th and 6th 20122. Details: Volleyball is one of the popular
games in US. 3. This tournament is organized to promote
game of volleyball on campus and helps to bring more than 150 players from different national backgrounds.
4. 12teams with a squad of 8 players participated in this tournament.
4. Approximate Attendance: 1255. Venue: USF Recreation Upper Gym6. Duration: 2 days
Event Information: 1. Date: February 28th 20122. Details: Penn Masala is a capella group
which performed in USF for the first time in its history
3. It had an enormous response from the audience.

Last year our expenses were approximately $7500.
We had a budget of $ 6200 This year budget estimate is approx. $
4000 We are planning to have few more
events next year as shown in our budget. This budget will really hinder our
progress as a student organization. Expected budget: Minimum = Expenses
of last year.
