How to Design for True Patient EngagementDr. Roni Zeiger works at the cutting edge of technology, healthcare, and information. The focus of his work and this talk is how patients find information, how they learn from each other, and how this affects the way they interact with the healthcare system. The future of accountable, meaningful patient engagement means meeting patients where they are: on the go and online. While this may sound difficult and prohibitively expensive, web technologies, mobile, and social media make scalable and cost-effective approaches possible. Dr. Zeiger will share approaches to identify what matters most to patients and clinicians in the engagement process and how to iteratively and cheaply prototype solutions.

At 9:00, join your colleagues in congratulating the recipient of the esteemed SHSMD Leadership Excellence Award, recognize professionals named as SHSMD’s Rising Stars, and welcome the newly elected leaders and 2017 president-elect of the SHSMD Board.

Roni Zeiger, MD, is former Chief Health Strategist, Strategist of Google & Co-Founder and CEO of Smart Patients.

Don't miss the opening keynote!

Preconference Events Enhance your SHSMD Connections experience by attending workshops, the Thought Leader Forum, or the Intensive Session on Sunday, September 11. If you’re ready to dive deep into targeted topics of interest, these events, facilitated by leaders in the field, will help you do just that.

Special AssistanceThe AHA wishes to ensure that no individual with a disability is excluded, denied services, segregated, or otherwise treated differently from other individuals because of the absence of auxiliary aids and services as identified in the Americans with Disabilities Act. Should you require special assistance, please contact SHSMD at [email protected].
