Tower game

Equipment – number cards that say 0,1,2,3, cubes or bricks to build with •  Your child takes it in turns to pic up a

number card and collect the number of bricks and build a tower

•  Have 5 goes in total •  The winner is the person who has the

most bricks in their tower

More/less/in between

Equipment – dot cards/numeral cards •  Spread the cards out. Adult asks: •  Can you find a card that is more than

7? Less than 7? •  Can you find a card that is in between

5 and 9? •  Can you find a card that is 1 more than

8? 1 less than 6?

Ordering numerals to 20

Equipment – dot cards/numeral cards 2 people •  Race to see who can put their cards in

order the fastest. Time how long it takes. Can you do it faster next time?

•  One person closes their eyes. The other person takes a card away. What is missing?

•  One person swaps two cards around Which cards are wrong?

Forwards and backwards

•  Count forwards and backwards to 20

•  Spot the mistake game – Adult counts up to 20 and back down to 0 making mistakes, can you spot them?

•  Take in turns to say three numbers. E.g. Adult - 4,5,6. Child – 7,8,9 - forwards and backwards

Number track race

Equipment –number cards to 20 in a line, 2 cars or counters, pieces of paper folded up with numbers 0,1,2,3 on. •  Take a piece of paper - count

on 1,2 or 3 as you move along the track. First to reach 20 wins the game.

Real life problems

Counting and solving problems everyday. Can you tidy up 9 toys? If you have 5 sweets and ate 2, how many left? If I had 6 sunflower seeds but I lost 2, how many would I have?

Writing numerals

Practise writing the numbers 0-10. Remember to start all numbers at the top! Please send me a photo of your numbers. Love from Cherry x

Draw your plant and colour it in using

the colours you can see. Add some labels to the different parts of the plant.

Write a sentence about how you are looking after your plants.

Look around your garden or when you go out for a walk. Can you find flowers or plants that are red, yellow, blue or purple? Can you draw them, write a list or take a photo?

List all of the things that are growing near your house or in your garden.

You could use:- •  A ruler •  Your thumb •  Lego bricks •  Anything else

around the house When your marigold gets bigger plant it in your coloured pot from school instead of your pansy.
