The Aseres Yemai Teshuva ushered in Yom Kippur and then we celebrated Zman Simchasenu in the Sukkah. Topping it all off was the joyous dancing and singing on Simchas Torah which our sore throats and tired feet attest to! And now suddenlyit is Shabbos Bereshis. What do we do now? There is a profound teaching of the Kotzker Rebbe on the first three words of the Torah which will be read on Shabbos that provide the answer. The Torah begins with the words בראשית ברא אלוקיםusually translated as In the beginning Hashem createdwhich the Rebbe read with a slight twist – Hashem created only the beginning – the rest is up to us! Shabbos Bereshis is a reality check to see how we will apply all of the beginnings we have recently experienced and become better and kinder people. The High Holidays are a platform which elevated us to new heights and opportunities. So what are we supposed to do now? Our real work lays ahead. Rabbi’s Message

So what are we supposed to do now? The buildup has been draining. The winds of Teshuva blew through the month of Elul and brought us Rosh Hashana. The Aseres Yemai

Teshuva ushered in Yom Kippur and then we celebrated Zman Simchasenu in the Sukkah. Topping it all off was the joyous dancing and singing on Simchas Torah which our sore throats and tired feet attest to! And now suddenly…it is Shabbos Bereshis. What do we do now? There is a profound teaching of the Kotzker Rebbe on the first three words of the Torah which will be read on Shabbos that provide the answer. The Torah begins with the words

בראשית ברא אלוקים

usually translated as “In the beginning Hashem created” which the Rebbe read with a slight twist – Hashem created only the beginning – the rest is up to us! Shabbos Bereshis is a reality check to see how we will apply all of the beginnings we have recently experienced and become better and kinder people. The High Holidays are a platform which elevated us to new heights and opportunities. So what are we supposed to do now? Our real work lays ahead. May we be wise enough to maximize all of Hashem’s gifts for a happy healthy and sweet new year!

The Congregation Extends Their Condolences to: Norma Cohen on the loss of her brother, Warren Perlman, A’H.

The front door of the shul will be locked daily after 8:00 AM Shacharis.

• When pressing the shul buzzer, you must face the camera to the right so we can identify you. It is difficult to know who it is

with the majority of people wearing hats/baseball caps.

• Please be extra cautious and take a moment to make sure the front door of the shul remains closed and locked upon entering and leaving the shul at all other times.

• If you must use the door stopper, after you have completed your task, please remember to close the door and make sure it is locked.

These measures are for everyone’s safety!

No one is to arrange meetings, meet with a vendor, take visitors on a tour of the shul, schedule last minute event or study with a

The Office staff is responsible for buzzing in visitors. By instilling this new policy we are looking out for the safety of everyone! If we are not given advanced notice, we will simply not admit the individual(s).
