BAPTISMS
A MESSAGE FROM FATHER RICH
Several years ago, I decided to ride down to Jefferson Barracks Cemetery on Memorial day. What an impressive sight to see all the American flags the Boy Scouts had placed on the graves of all those who are buried there and the number of individuals who were visiting the graves of their loved ones.
As we celebrate Memorial Day, please remember all those who have paid the ultimate price of their lives to give us the freedoms we have today.
Please consider attending Mass on Memorial Day. Pray for them and that no others will have to pay the ultimate price of their lives.
Results are in ~ New Parish Council Members
I would like to thank our parish members for participating and voting. Congratulation to our New Parish Council members: Christina Gnade, Jessica Hubbard, and Kris Westhoff.
Have a great holiday. ~ Father Rich

News & Notes
Our parish will have the Respect Life Apostolate traveling pro-life banner in our parish June 3rd through June 11th. We are asked to increase our prayers during this time for pro-life intentions, especially the daily recitation of the rosary and sacrificial acts.
The Respect Life Apostolate will sponsor the annual Breast Cancer Healing Mass on Saturday, June 10, 9:30am, at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Brentwood. Fr. Jack Siefert will be the celebrant and a reception will follow. This Mass honors all who have been affected by breast cancer. Survivors, family, and friends are all welcome. This Mass is offered as an alternative to the Susan G. Komen race for the cure, as the Church does not encourage participation in the race. Some Susan G. Komen affiliates contribute to Planned Parenthood (not St. Louis). Komen supports embryonic stem cell research and does not acknowledge the link between abortion and breast cancer .
Mother’s Day Weekend Flowers To all who purchased roses on Mother’s Day weekend, thank you for your generosity and support of the Pro-Life cause. ~ The Pro-Life Committee

OUT AND ABOUT
DEACON NEAL’S REFLECTION CORNER
Happy Ascension Thursday! For many of us, as we grew up, that is how this feast was known. A few years ago the USCCB moved the feast to the following Sunday.
This feast reminds me of a fictional conversation between Jesus and St. Michael the Archangel.
St. Michael greeted Jesus after he ascended into heaven and congratulated him on a job well done. St. Michael asked Jesus what he wanted him to do to continue his work on earth. Jesus told him, “Nothing, I turned everything over to my 11 apostles.” St. Michael said, “ You’re kidding me, right?” Jesus responded, “No, I trust them and I promised them that I would send them the Holy Spirit to give them courage and lead them to All truth.”
Jesus not only trusted the apostles, he also trusts us. Can he trust us to carry on his message of love? He’s counting on us. Let us thank him for the opportunity to carry on his work!
- Deacon Neal
