How to Set and Reset Password in Outlook ?

Password in Outlook PST is set to protect Outlook Details. Its helps to avoid unplanned disruption by other Persons who share your computer . When password is used, a password prompt is pop up when Outlook starts.

How to Set the Password in Outlook ?

Steps 1:

Open Outlook Click on File button Then Click on Data File Management

Steps 2:Click on "Data Files " option.Then click the PST for which you want to set the password Click on setting to open the Personal Folders dialog box

Step 3 : As you Click on Setting, You will get Personal Folders Box

Now, click  Change Password Button

Steps 4 : Set New Password , the password can be 15 character long case sensitive. In verify password tab, type new password again

Don't select the save this password in your password list check box

Click on OK button again Click on Ok Button

Note :

It is difficult that you remember your password. If you forget your password, Microsoft cannot retrieve it.

Therefore, always store passwords at secure place .

Step 5 : When You Open the Outlook , You get this pop- up window . This Window demands you for your Password

Enter Your Password and Click on OK button to start your Outlook

How to Remove the Password

from the Outlook ?

Step 1 :

Open Outlook Click on File Button Then Click on Data File Management

Step 3 : As you Click on Setting, You get Personal Folders Box

Now, click  Change Password Button

Step 4 : In the Old password box, type the password that you set on the PST file . Leave the New password and Verify password boxes blank.

Now, click Ok button

Forgotten Password from Outlook ?

You can recover forgotten Password from MS Outlook PST .If you have set a password and accidently forget it then you can remove it by using Free Microsoft Tool named pst19upg.exe from Microsoft.
