Workshop 8 Aims & Outcomes:

• Aims: The project introduces you to some of the native ways of drawing in Photoshop, building confidence without the need for scanned originals.

• You will work in a pixel environment to create motifs suitable for pattern creation.

• You will gain practice in the use of layers and transformations.

• You will explore using selections and brushes to create motifs, then create and store custom brushes from motifs so that you can then paint with them.

• Outcomes: You will have created a number of detailed motifs. From these motifs you will have created custom brushes. These motifs can then be developed into a pattern design.
