PhotosA 400m stretch of Buaraba Creek has bits long post-flood rehabilitation journey. ABCLandcare with support from Energex, Landcare QSEQ Catchments, Conservation Volunteers Austand, most importantly, Coominya State School hareplanted nearly 2000 trees to help stabilise thebanks of the creek after they were reshaped withexcavator. Adjoining landholders have gone to a deal of effort to support the plantings and haveinstalled irrigation to give the trees, shrubs andgroundcovers the best chance of survival.

Works took place 30th August with both the top o

bank and bank slope planted using a range of naspecies. The creek was widened by around 50m result of the flood leaving a vertical bank andrelatively unstable toe.
