The workshop started with the inaugural function. Dignitaries present for the occasion were the expert for the event Mr. FRENOY OSBURN, founder of AVNETT, Principal Dr V. Marriappan , Head of the ECE Department Prof. Laxmikant Bordekar and the faculty adviser Prof Shrinivas Joshi, Assistant Professor of ECE Department. Talking about the workshop the principal gave an inspiring speech to encourage the students to come forward and grab any opportunity that comes their way. The workshop was declared as open by the chairman of SENCES Mast. Blaise Sequira and it commenced at 10:00am as per the schedule. The workshop was held for the students of second year and third year of electronics and communication engineering. Participants were divided in to the groups of four. The workshop was conducted By Mr. FRENOY OSBURN and his colleagues Mast. Rahul Mascarenes and Mast. Charlton Fernandes. The workshop focused on the ATMEGA16 microcontroller a LOW Power CMOS 16 bit microcontroller combining a rich instruction set of 32 general purpose register s making it code efficient while achieving through puts up to 10 times faster than conventional CISC microcontroller. Its feature includes a flash memory of 8Kb. EEPROM data memory 512b, clock frequency 0-16 MHz 2311/0 pins, 18 interrupt , 8 bit( timer counter) analogue to digital converter full duplex (USART)and SXCL(two wire serial bus clock line. AVR studio 6.0 was used to compile the code. Semipro was used to burn the code to ATMEGA16A while XCTU was used to communicate between two kits) Mr. FRENOY OSBURN also outlined the applications of ATmega16 which vary from robotics to prototype breadboard. The workshop was aimed to enable students to match their aspirations to attachment by providing practice support. The workshop gave the student a chance to explore the hardware and learn the new programming language embedded C using which they could perform blinking the LEDS. The buzzing the buzzer using the relay. Displaying the letters ON LCD screen using the Keypad on the mcu board and using the dip switches. Mast. Charlton Fernandes also explained to the students how this newly produced development based on ATMEGA16A microcontroller provided high flexibility and cost effective solution to many embedded controller applications On the last day of the workshop Mr. Frenoy Osburn being and avid electronics hobbyist and fascinated by the wireless technology aspired the student of his impression of electronics aerospace industry and motivated them. The workshop came to end with the prize distribution ceremony to the toppers of the second year and the quiz winner which was also followed by vote of thanks by Nina D’Souza student of second year ECE. The workshop came to end peacefully by presenting the momentous to Mr. Frenoy Osburn providing and preparing students with the organizational, leadership, communicational and team work skills. A commendable job was done by the Members of SENCES association.

Report On Introduction to Embedded System with AVR

SENCES (Society of Electronics N Communications Engineering) of Agnel Institute of Technology and Design

hosted two days workshop Introduction to Embedded System with AVR in association with AVNETT, a startup

company in Goa based on Embedded Systems, on the 22nd and 23rd August 2014 . The workshop started with

the inaugural function. Dignitaries present for the occasion were the expert for the event Mr. FRENOY OSBURN,

founder of AVNETT, Principal Dr V. Marriappan , Head of the ECE Department Prof. Laxmikant Bordekar and

the faculty adviser Prof Shrinivas Joshi, Assistant Professor of ECE Department.

Talking about the workshop the principal gave an inspiring speech to encourage the students to come forward

and grab any opportunity that comes their way. The workshop was declared as open by the chairman of SENCES

Mast. Blaise Sequira and it commenced at 10:00am as per the schedule. The workshop was held for the students

of second year and third year of electronics and communication engineering.

Participants were divided in to the groups of four. The workshop was conducted By Mr. FRENOY OSBURN and his

colleagues Mast. Rahul Mascarenes and Mast. Charlton Fernandes. The workshop focused on the ATMEGA16

microcontroller a LOW Power CMOS 16 bit microcontroller combining a rich instruction set of 32 general

purpose register s making it code efficient while achieving through puts up to 10 times faster than conventional

CISC microcontroller. Its feature includes a flash memory of 8Kb. EEPROM data memory 512b, clock frequency

0-16 MHz 2311/0 pins, 18 interrupt , 8 bit( timer counter) analogue to digital converter full duplex (USART)and

SXCL(two wire serial bus clock line. AVR studio 6.0 was used to compile the code. Semipro was used to burn the

code to ATMEGA16A while XCTU was used to communicate between two kits) Mr. FRENOY OSBURN also

outlined the applications of ATmega16 which vary from robotics to prototype breadboard.

The workshop was aimed to enable students to match their aspirations to attachment by providing practice

support. The workshop gave the student a chance to explore the hardware and learn the new programming

language embedded C using which they could perform blinking the LEDS. The buzzing the buzzer using the

relay. Displaying the letters ON LCD screen using the Keypad on the mcu board and using the dip switches.

Mast. Charlton Fernandes also explained to the students how this newly produced development based on

ATMEGA16A microcontroller provided high flexibility and cost effective solution to many embedded controller

applications

On the last day of the workshop Mr. Frenoy Osburn being and avid electronics hobbyist and fascinated by the

wireless technology aspired the student of his impression of electronics aerospace industry and motivated them.

The workshop came to end with the prize distribution ceremony to the toppers of the second year and the quiz

winner which was also followed by vote of thanks by Nina D’Souza student of second year ECE. The workshop

came to end peacefully by presenting the momentous to Mr. Frenoy Osburn providing and preparing students

with the organizational, leadership, communicational and team work skills. A commendable job was done by the

Members of SENCES association.
