Gospel Meditation
“Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” We
hear a very similar version of this in every Mass. Our Gospel today
tells us the role of John the Baptist was to make known Jesus, the
Lamb of God.” Who has helped you to recognize Christ in your life?
How does your life direct others to Christ?
a Cristo?"
The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a Blood Drive on
Sunday, January 22nd from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Sign-ups will be after all Masses this weekend by the bell
tower.

Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
The Holy Spirit who descended on Jesus at his Baptism is
given to us through the sacraments of Baptism and Confirma-
tion. Like Jesus we are called to be God’s servants for the
“victory of justice”. We are called to be signs of the covenant
of God’s love, which is manifest whenever peace triumphs over
violence; love overcomes apathy and division; when our world
is transformed by that love into God’s reign of justice, mercy,
compassion and peace. How can we live our baptismal call this
week?

Word of Life
“[God] comes to assist us in our weakness. And his help con-
sists in helping us accept his presence and closeness to us. Day
after day, touched by his compassion, we also can become
compassionate towards others.” — Pope Francis, Misericordiae
vultus
— Papa
Francisco, Misericordiae vultus
