Se7en title sequence – showing theme

This is the first text seen in se7en, which in less than a second becomes blurred which makes you fear from how fast it changes. From this and the image being such dull colours, it makes you think thiller/horror.

This looks like its been hand written with the white on black effect which works well as the text stands out in the shade. Also the repetition of text for ‘a film by’ gives a blurred effect to make it look like someone's shaking feared.

It is impossible to show through a screen shot but this text was flickered on the screen which again shows the horror and makes you think of lights flickering and how people aren’t going to be able to see what’s coming. A rough idea of what the film may be about can be guessed by the titles.

When the titles are shown, it’s often on a black screen so that all attention is on the text and then goes onto an image. The job role is always in capitals with the blur and more of a simple font whereas the names are always hand written which shows the range of text but both linking to horror.
