ThemenuhasmoreAMBERthanGREENitemsandithasfourREDitems.ThemenuhastwoGREYitemsthatwereunabletobeclassifiedduetoinsufficientnutritioninformation.
Whatshouldamenulooklike?GREENfoodsshoulddominantthemenu.AsageneralruleGREENfoodsshouldrepresentmorethan50%ofthemenu.AMBERfoodsshouldbeselectedcarefullyandtheyshouldnotdominatethemenu,meaningAMBERfoodsshouldrepresentlessthan50%ofthemenuitems.REDfoodsshouldnotbepresentonthemenu.Redfoodsareallowedinschoolsamaximumoftwooccasionsperterm;thisincludesallfundraisers,canteenactivities,fetes,BBQ’sandsportingcarnivals.BANNEDDrinksSomedrinksarecompletelyBANNEDandcanneverbesoldatschool.Theyincludesoftdrinksenergydrinks,sportsdrinks,cordialsandicedteawith≥300kJperserveor≥100mgsodiumperserve.Theymustberemovedfromthemenu.
