Milky Way Sky Area• The Via Lattea (Milky Way) offers 400 km (250 miles) of ski runs for all level of

expertise, 120 of them with artificial snow, almost 100 high-speed lifts (fast rides, and zero queuing) from an altitude of 1,350m up to 2,800m. All runs are connected with one another, and skiable with just one ski-pass. Some of them are also open at night!

• The Via Lattea is located 70 km (44 miles) west of the Turin International airport. It includes the villages: Claviere, Sansicario, Sauze d'Oulx, Pragelato, Sestriere and Montgenèvre (in France). You also have the option of the train from Turin, or Lion, and the highway towards the Frejus tunnel into France.

• The Via Lattea hosted the alpine, freestyle, and nordic skiing races of the 2006 Winter Olympics.

• Skiing season opens at the beginning of December, and closes at the end of April.

Sansicario, the heart of Milky Way• Sansicario is known as the pearl of the Milky

Way and sits in a natural bowl between Sauze d’Oulx and Sestriere: the ideal for exploring the huge ski area in either direction.

• The village is traffic-free, so relaxing and safe, and the après scene is somewhat quiet.

• Sansicario is the most sunny area of the whole Milky Way: all its ski runs are facing South, and West, with no shadow from other mountains.

• Sansicario has also plenty of safe off-piste skiing to satisfy the experts, with really few risks!
