Assembly and Disassembly instructions for HC238H series II Overview- Check-ground conditions, power lines, swing radius, traffic/other objects, swing radius, communication clarification, operating radius, weight of object, line pull, counterweight configuration, outrigger span, all weather related items including wind, lightening and ice build up. When a spotter is needed for traffic/objects there needs to be clear communication of what the spotter is covering. The proper safety measures need to be taken. Pins should not be removed if under tension. Outriggers- controlling entity is responsible to ensure that all ground conditions are safe and acceptable for the crane and outriggers. Proper blocking and padding needs to be in place each time the outriggers are moved.

I.) Assembly

A.) Procedure for crane erection with 120’ main boom and ABCA

counterweights.

1.) Install outrigger pads 2.) Extend outriggers 3.) Lower outrigger pads to ground 4.) Level crane 5.) Boom up to hoist/remove 5,000# dolly (check load charts for max

boom angle, minimum, and rated capacities with 0 counterweight). 6.) Set ABC & A counterweights on deck of crane 7.) Hoist boom sections from component trailers and lay on ground

facing the appropriate direction. 8.) Lock house over rear of crane 9.) Boom down 10.) Unhook pendants 11.) Cantilever boom 12.) Remove four pins to detach boom tip 13.) Once pins are removed, boom up slightly to keep boom foot clear

1.) Pull crane forward and pin to 20’ section (1,540#) 2.) Pull forward and pin to other 20’ section (1,540#) 3.) Pull forward and pin to final 30’ section (2,120#) 4.) Pull forward and pin back in to boom tip 5.) Assemble all pendant lines 6.) Before booming up, walk each side of boom ensuring all keepers

are installed. 7.) Boom up to 55° 8.) Affix counterweights to house of crane 9.) Travel on site is limited to 1 M.P.H. with Ground Bearing Pressure

at 96.5 p.s.i. on tires

I.) Disassembly A.) Procedure for disassembly of crane with 120’ main boom and ABCA

counterweights. 1.) Move in to firm level location 2.) Boom down with house locked over the rear of crane 3.) Remove pendant cables 4.) Cantilever boom 5.) Remove tip section 6.) Remove 30’ section (2,120#) 7.) Remove 20’ section (1,540#) 8.) Remove 20’ section (1,540#) 9.) Back crane back in to tip section and install pins 10.) Boom down to remove cantilever 11.) Install pendant cables 12.) Boom up to raise tip off ground 13.) Lower outriggers and level crane 14.) Remove counterweights (ABC & A) 15.) Hoist and place boom dolly over rear of crane 16.)
