one of the best-known streets in Russia. Cutting

through the historical center of the city, it runs from

the Admiralty to the Moscow Railway Station and

then, after a slight kink, to the Alexander Nevsky

beautiful buildings, squares and bridges and became

the very center of the bustling, rapidly growing city.

Cathedral of the Savior on Spilled Blood

Located at the side of Griboyedov Canal stands the majestic cathedral that

draws on so much attention of visitors to the city, thanks to its beautiful

architecture designs, its rich history and most amazingly, the beautiful

interior that is filled with intricate mosaic designs covering from floor to the

ceiling, covering a total area of 7,500 sq. m.

This is one landmark in St. Petersburg that you would not want to miss, as it

is one of the main attractions in the city center, and The Church of the

Resurrection, also known as the "Savior on Spilled Blood", was built in

memory of Alexander II who was assassinated in 1881. The Cathedral of the

Savior on Spilled Blood attracts people with its five onion-domes

exuberantly decorated and covered in jeweler's enamel. It has a similar

façade to St Basil's Cathedral in Moscow. Its peculiar multicolored exterior

makes it stand out from St. Petersburg’s typically strict architectural

proportions and color combinations.

Russian Vodka Museum

This small museum presents the long history of Russia’s national drink,

from 12th Century to 20th Century. The museum display cases full of vodka

bottles in unusual shapes, old advertising campaigns and some funny

dioramas explain the evolution of the Russian firewater. An excursion is

recommended as the exhibits are in Russia only. In the tasting room,

there’s also a chance to try out three different vodkas and traditional

Russian snacks.
