Proyecto de vidriera El pasado sábado 3 de octubre, vigilia de la Fiesta de San Fran‐cisco, los líderes y representantes de nuestra comunidad par‐roquial se reunieron para la dedicación de las imágenes de los santos en las vidrieras. Además, estuvo presente el alcalde Rico Medina. Aunque fue un rito breve y sencillo, la presencia del arzobispo Salvatore Cordileone lo hizo realmente especial. Se tomó un tiempo antes de cada una de las 12 imágenes sagradas in‐censándose y rociando agua bendita, comenzando con la imagen de San Bruno en la iglesia principal y terminando con la imagen de San Miguel en la capilla. La siguiente es una reseña de Pamela Rojas sobre el proyecto. *** Este proyecto comenzó con una propuesta para múltiples cambios en la estructura del entorno de la Iglesia de San Bru‐no en julio de 2008. Se envió una solicitud que incluía la in‐stalación de vidrieras a la Oficina de Adoración de la Ar‐quidiócesis de San Francisco. En octubre de 2010 se propuso la sustitución de las ventanas de vidrio ordinarias por vidrieras para el próximo festival. En enero de 2014, todo el proyecto se conceptualizó en una estimación de $ 56.000 con finalización en seis meses. En febrero de 2014 se presentó el proyecto al Consejo Parroquial con la propuesta de ocho paneles inicial‐mente en el lado del patio de la iglesia y se amplió a doce con la inclusión de las cuatro ventanas dentro de la capilla de adoración. La fecha de finalización original debía ser el 4 de octubre de 2014. Se inició la selección de santos con inscrip‐ciones y emblemas. El 27 de diciembre de 2018, el artículo del boletín “Mirando hacia el futuro” incluyó los proyectos de vidrieras y paneles solares, que se espera que el festival complete en octubre de 2019. En marzo de 2019 los santos, basados en la importancia de los santos para la Iglesia Católica y se finalizó la relación de muchos con nuestras comunidades étnicas. En agosto de 2019, un seminario litúrgico incluyó la presentación del proyecto de vidriera con un gráfico de los santos. En septiembre de 2019, el Consejo de Finanzas aprobó el costo, se enviaron cartas a los feligreses y se contrató a Bovard Studio para el diseño e implementación de la ventana. La instalación física comenzó el 10 de agosto y se completó el 25 de agosto de 2020. El costo total fue de $ 181,005 que in‐cluyó la reparación de un agujero y la implementación de fu‐turas medidas de prevención de daños para la vidriera original de la Natividad en la iglesia. Stained Glass Window Project

Last Saturday, October 3, the vigil of the Feast of St. Francis, leaders and representatives of our parish community came to-gether for the dedication of the images of the saints in the stained glass. Also, in attendance was Mayor Rico Medina. Though it was a short and simple rite, the presence of Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone made it truly spe‐cial. He took time before each of the 12 holy images incensing and sprinkling holy water, starting with the image of St. Bruno in the main church and ending with the image of St. Michael in the chapel. The following is a write up of Pamela Rojas on the project.

*** This project began with a proposal for multiple chang‐es in the structure of the Saint Bruno Church environ‐

ment in July of 2008. An application including in‐stalling stained glass windows was sent to the Office of Worship of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. In October of 2010 replacement of the ordinary glass

windows with stained glass was proposed for the next festival. In January 2014 the whole project was con‐

ceptualized at an estimate of $56,000 with completion in six months. In February of 2014 the project was

presented to the Parish Council with the proposal of eight panels initially at the courtyard side of the

church and was expanded to twelve with the inclusion of the four windows within the adoration chapel. The

original completion date was to be October 4, 2014. The selection of saints with inscriptions and emblems

was begun. On December27, 2018 the bulletin article “Looking Forward” included the stained glass windows and so‐lar panels projects, hopefully to be completed by the festival in October 2019. In March 2019 the saints, based on the importance of the saints to the Catholic Church and the relationship of many to our ethnic communities were finalized. In August 2019 a liturgi‐cal seminar included the presentation of the stained glass window project with a chart of the saints. In September 2019 the Finance Council approved the cost, letters were sent to parishioners, and Bovard Stu‐dio was engaged for the window design and imple‐mentation. The physical installation began August 10th and was completed August 25th, 2020. The total cost was $181,005 which included repair of a hole and imple‐mentation of future damage prevention measures for the original Nativity stained glass window in the church. All of the saints in the church proper and the adoration chapel are facing the altar in their respec‐tive environments.

A los siete años quería ser mártir por amor a Dios. Catechism Corner by Kacey Carey , DRE Anyone who has ever given a dinner party can relate to today's gospel. Even though one invites guests, the process can be frustrating. Some will not bother to RSVP, preferring to just drop by or not show up at all. Others won't commit until the last minute in case something more interesting comes along. Some picky people won't commit unless they know who else is invited, so as to not socialize with "undesirables". Others will bring along an uninvited friend and fail to bring a dish to share. Some guests rudely arrive an hour or two late. All of these scenarios mean a host does not know who will show up and how to keep the food warmed indefinitely. The wedding feast parable is obviously meant to be heaven with many invited guests having better things to do than go there. Although it is hard to believe that people would prefer going anywhere else, the clue is the lack of appropriate dress. Unlike a casual dinner party, intentionally dressing for heaven means one is prepared to be there. It means one puts on Christ, attempting to lead a life of discipleship. It means we plan to be there, not leaving our lives to happenstance or chance falling out of grace. When we get our invitation to the wedding banquet, let's RSVP right away. Party of One kindly accepts Our Lord's invitation! "I put the Helmet of Salvation on my head to bring it over my eyes, nose , ears and mouth. I put the breastplate of Righteousness over my heart. I put the Girdle of Truth around my waist. I put the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace and Wholeness on my feet, take up the Shield of Faith in my left hand and take the Sword of the Spirit with my right hand , which is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing and discerning the intentions of the heart." Ephesians 6: 10-18.
