    THE SAHAJA WORKSHOP

    Source: Sahaja Literature

Through Sahaja Yoga we start to feel the effects that our behavior and theenvironment has on our subtle instrument. With vibratory awareness wecan diagnose problems at a very early stage and then use various Sahajatechniques to bring the spiritual body back into balance and clear anyobstructions that may develop.

Another great benefit of Sahaja Yoga is that in addition to the above we canalso help each other in a very real and tangible way. By developing ourvibratory awareness we can diagnose the condition of each others chakras andthen take steps to remove any blockages, and restore the system back tohealthy normality.

SOME BENEFITS OF WORKING ON EACH OTHER

Participating in the group workshop can be very beneficial for our meditationand helping us to go deeper into our Self Realisation.

By working on each other we start to develop this new vibratory awarenessmuch more quickly so that we can start to feel this all pervading power of lovewhich is all around us. It is in fact one of the ways that many people start toclearly experience the flow of vibrations either in the hands or around the body.

When we work on each other the flow of vibrations increases substantially. Thishas the effect of helping the Kundalini to rise higher and with a greater force; italso takes us deeper into meditation. Some people find it difficult at first toexperience thoughtlessness for longer than few moments. Working on eachother can be such an absorbing experience sometimes that often we justspontaneously go into it.

Another marvel of working on each other is that as we work on and clear eachothers chakras we also clear our own. For example if you start to work onsomeone and find there is a catch on the Nabhi chakra and you give it abhandan and some vibrations, this will also start to clear and open your ownNabhi centre. It can be a source of great joy to experience these differentvibrations flowing through you as you work on different centres.

Furthermore if you find you have got a particular blockage on one of thecentres, e.g. Vishuddhi, it is easier to clear by asking someone with a goodVishuddhi to work on you. This is because as they will have stronger Vishuddhivibrations flowing through them, it will be easier for them to clear this centre foryou.

    SUMMARY OF PROCEDURES

  • 7/29/2019 Sahaja Workshop

    2/6

    1. Go into meditation

    2. Put a bhandan on yourself and raise Kundalini

    3. Put a bhandan on person who is receiving vibrations and raise its Kundalini

    4. Bring their mechanism into balance

    5. Diagnose which chakra(s) needs working on

    6. Put bhandan on ailing chakra(s) and give it vibrations

    7. When cool, finish by putting on bhandans and raising Kundalini

WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING VERY MUCH

Some of us take a little longer than others before we start feeling things veryclearly on our hands. To develop our sensitivity it is very helpful to footsoak

daily. However until we do clearly feel the vibrations we can adopt another moresystematic approach.

Follow steps 1, 2 and 3 above and then systematically put bhandans on andgive vibrations to all the chakras starting with Mooladhara. This in itself will startto clear both the person receiving vibrations and yourself and will also make youmore sensitive.

Both of you will also start feeling the qualities of the chakras as you work onthem in turn, and they start to open. For example you will both experience:

Mooladhara - Greater support for the Kundalini and a sense of innocence willbe restored

Kundalini - More strands of the Kundalini will rise

Swadisthan - Strange thoughts will stop and our creativity will increase

Nabhi - Greater peace and satisfaction

Void - Greater sense of stability

Vishuddhi - Weight lifted from the shoulders, less guilt, more sweetness

Agnya - Less thinking and more forgiveness

Sahasrara - Silence, integration and bliss

After trying the above a few times and also being attentive to what you feel onyour fingers you will soon start to feel the vibrations on your hands and can bethen use the traditional approach.

OTHER ISSUES TO BEAR IN MIND

  • 7/29/2019 Sahaja Workshop

    3/6

When we work on people we also have to exercise sensibility of another kind. For example when we work on someone they are in meditation so we should trynot to disturb them unnecessarily by trying to have conversation with them, telling what to do, or asking sensitive questions. We can always have a friendlychat afterwards. Similarly if we are working on someone with another it is

not very tactful to talk about what catches the person receiving vibrationshas got. It is better to just try and clear them.

During this process we act as channels for the divine energy to flow , so weshould not develop ego and start thinking that we have become great healers orsomething special. Although this is a great gift we are no better than any otherSahaja Yogi of which there are many thousands all over the world.

There is often a temptation to start healing those we know who may be very ill. This may seem altruistic but during the early stages of our Self Realisation ourinstrument is often a little vulnerable and we have to bring them to a meeting

where they can get their Self Realisation and then let them work it out usingSahaja methods.

Self Realisation works out best in a collective situation when all can helpeach other. By staying at home on our own it is very difficult to clear our centreand develop our Self Realisation, it is much easier to progress by spending timewith Sahaja Yogis, and by regularly attend programs and other Sahaja events. You learn more and have much more fun by doing things as a group.

Sahaja Yoga is more than just a body of knowledge. Through vibratoryawareness we start to experience life in a new way and by regularly gettinginvolved in a workshop each week we can hasten the development of this new

awareness and deepen our connection with the Spirit.

The above guide may seem very technical but after only a little practice itbecomes very easy. Further more it is a very relaxing, pleasant and enjoyableexperience for both the person giving vibrations and the person receiving. So letus not be diffident and shy, rather let us experiment and enjoy.

    STEP BY STEP GUIDE

For the purpose of clarity we refer to the two parties as one giving vibrationsand the other as receiving vibrations.

    1. Go into meditation

Before we start working on anyone it is important to go into meditation firstourselves. We can do this by putting our attention on the top of our head and tryto find that silence within. Ideally we should be in thoughtless awareness all thetime we are working on people as this will maximise the flow of vibrations andkeep us clear.

    2. Put a bhandan on yourself and raise Kundalini

  • 7/29/2019 Sahaja Workshop

    4/6

Stand behind the person you will be working on, put on a bhandan and raiseyour Kundalini. Putting on a bhandan will protect our instrument, bring us intobalance, bring our attention inside and help us get into meditative state.

    3. Put a bhandan on person receiving vibrations and raise their Kundalini

Putting a bhandan on them will protect their instrument, bring them intobalance, bring their attention inside and help them getting into a meditativestate.

    4. Bring their mechanism into balance

Put your right hand above their head and see if you can feel anything. You feelsome coolness coming out of the top of their head or maybe some heat if thingsare working out. If Kundalini is not coming through you can raise Kundalini toincrease the flow.

Then put both your hands towards the photograph and determine what you feelon your own instrument. Next put your attention on the person receivingvibrations and put your right hand toward them. See if you can feel anythingdifferent. We do this so that we can separate our own catches from the personwe are working on. It may be difficult at first but with practice you will find thatthis new vibratory awareness will start to develop quite quickly.

It is often necessary to bring the instrument of the person receiving vibrationsinto balance first. When you put your hands toward some people you mayexperience a difference in flow of vibrations in each hand. You may find forexample coolness on the right and warmth or heaviness on the left if the person

tends to use their left side channel too much. To bring this into balance raisethe right and bring down the left until you feel an even flow in both hands.

Conversely you may feel warmth or tingling on the right hand and little ornothing in the left. This is often the case with people who predominantly usetheir right side but prefer not to use their emotional side very much. To bring thisinto balance raise the left and bring down the right. Such people are often overactive and this will make them feel much more relaxed and peaceful.

    5. Diagnose which chakra(s) needs working on

When you have brought their instrument into balance again put your attention

on the person to see what you feel. This time focus on the fingers and see ifyou can work out which chakra needs to be worked on; it may take severalseconds to get a clear indication.

During the early stages when we are developing this skill we may feel veryuncertain about exactly what we feel and it is very tempting to just ask anotherSahaja Yogi who may have greater sensitivity; this does have some merits. Todevelop our own sensitivity it is important that we start to operate on what weactually experience ourselves. In the beginning when our sensitivity isdeveloping we may find difficult to separate our catches from those of theperson receiving vibrations, but with a little practice it does become easier.

Another way of diagnosis is to run your right hand over the chakras of theperson receiving vibrations to see if you feel any area giving off heat. Feelingthese changes in temperature is often one of the first experiences of vibratoryawareness for many people.

Some people find that at first they do not feel much on their hands butmore on the body. This is especially the case if your left Vishuddhi is notvery clear as this interfere with the sensitivity of the hands. You may findthat you feel other people catches on your own body when you put yourattention on them. Or alternatively some people can feel where theKundalini is stopping and any catches directly by using the attention. Usewhichever works for you best to begin with, after a while you will be ableto use all these methods.

    6. Put bhandan on ailing chakra(s) and give it vibrations

When you have worked out which chakra needs to be worked on then puta bhandan on it. This is always a clockwise from the front andanticlockwise from behind as this is the way in which the chakra isactually spinning on the horizontal plane.

Then give it some vibrations. This you do by taking vibrations from thephotograph with the left hand and giving them to the chackra with the righthand. After a while the experience of vibrations flowing into the left and out of

the right will be quite clear.

In between clearing each chakra it is helpful to raise Kundalini again a fewtimes to push any blockages that may have been loosened up throughSahasrara chakra.

In addition to this you can use other methods such as candle treatment, mantras and draining the left or the right side.

We can put a bhandan on a chakra with a candle or just hold the candleflame near the problem area and it will burn off any obstructions. After awhile you can actually feel it sucking the catch and clearing the

obstruction. It is also very helpful for clearing the whole left side whichyou can do by moving the candle flame up and down the left side.

The use of mantras in a workshop situation is also very powerful. Ideally themantras should be said out aloud for maximum effect, but discretion is of courseimportant. Whereas we may be able to do this at home or amongst establishedSahaja Yogis, at a public program it may be better to say them silently so as notto disturb either the person receiving vibrations or any newcomers who may notunderstand what we are doing.

If the person receiving vibrations has got either the right or left side giving off

some heat then this can be drained by asking them to put:

    6/6

    a) left hand towards the photograph and right hand towards the earth to drainthe left side, or

    b) right hand towards the photograph and left hand up towards the sky to drainthe right side

In addition to draining the left and right channels, this action also clears thechakras that are obstructed on either left or right side.

    7. Finish by putting on bhandan and raising Kundalini

When the person you are working on has their Kundalini established inSahasrara and their vibrations are flowing then you can bring the session to aclose by raising their Kundalini three times and putting a bhandan on them.

When you have done this raise your own Kundalini and put a bhandan onyourself. It is usually a good idea to sit and meditate quietly for a few minutes

after working on someone to settle yourself down and ensure that you stay inthe centre.
