The Paintball Marker

The paintball marker is powered by a 3000 psi High Pressure air tank

The regulator shows the amount of pressure in the tankIf the tank has less than 1000 psi, then see a staff memberto have your air tank refilled.

Please DO NOT remove the tank from the paintball marker.

Bring the marker to a staff member to have the air refilled.

A quick bit on paintballsPaintballs are made from gelatin, much like the shell of a Gel-Cap pain reliever. Inside is a blend of corn starch, food colouring and vegetable oil.

Paintballs are designed to breakdown quickly, wash out of clothing, and are not harmful to the environment, however we do not recommend eating them.

If you drop paintballs on the ground or find some lying around…Please DO NOT load them into your paintball marker.

Once a paintball has been contaminated by water or dirt it will cause the paintball to break inside your hopper or barrel.

A ball break can result in ruining all of the balls in your hopper.

The Rules of Play

Page 22: Safety Briefing Video

The Rules of PlayGames consist of one team versus another.Games involve eliminating all of the other team, the most eliminated in a definedtime span, or by capturing a defined object or location (e.g. a flag or building).

Before starting a game the referee will inform both teams of the following:

• Time limit if required• Team objective• Boundaries• What to do if eliminated• Where to go if eliminated

Page 23: Safety Briefing Video

The Rules of PlayThe Game is about to start…what happens now?

After the referee instructs you to put on your mask, remove your barrel sleeve and take of your safety the referee will start the game by counting down and blowing a whistle or shouting “GO GO GO!!!”

Page 24: Safety Briefing Video

The Rules of PlayHow do I get someone out?

To be tagged out you must be hit by a paintball that breaks on your person and makes a splat of paint at least the size of a quarter. Balls that don’t break or the splatter from a near miss do not count.

Not sure if you’ve been hit?Call the referee for a “Paint check”.The referee will inspect you, then let you know if you are out, or can play on.

Page 25: Safety Briefing Video

The Rules of PlayWhat do I do when I’m out?

To avoid people continuing to shoot at you raise one hand in the air, and call “OUT!” in a loud clear voice.Place the barrel sleeve on your marker and engage the safety switch.Walk off the field, usually to where the Referee is standing.

When you are tagged out it is considered to be poor sportsmanship to provide information to players still playing.

As the Pirates say…Dead men tell no tales!!!

Page 26: Safety Briefing Video

The Rules of PlayAre there other times I call myself out?

If you run out of paintballs or air…You are out.

If you go out of bounds…You are out.

You may call yourself out at any time. This often happens when the last player on a team is up against more than 3 or 4 players.

You should also call yourself out if you haveequipment failure like a fogged up mask.

REMEMBER!Safety first. If you can not see because of a fogged up mask, call yourself out

and the referee will get it fixed. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR MASK when other players are still involved in the game. Its not worth the risk!

The Rules of Play

Blind firing, Overshooting and the Mercy Rule

Blind firing is when a player fires from behind cover and can not see what they are shooting at.Blind firing is not permitted, you must be able to see what you are shooting at.

Overshootingis when a player fires and hits another player more than 2 or 3 times. It is not permitted and is very painful and dangerous.

Mercy Ruleis when a player sneaks up close enough to an opposing player that if they were to shoot it would result in a very painful bruise. When the attacking player is less than 3-5 meters away they shout out “Mercy”. The defending player then calls “Out”.
