CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT TREE FOR
CEMETERY AND SANCTUARY. The
Christmas Ornament Tree has been cre-
ated to help Sacred Heart Parish fundraise to
improve the Cemetery and Sanctuary. Instead of
buying Fr. Larry and Fr. Bob – black socks, black sweaters,
fruitcakes you can 1) offer prayers for them, and/or 2)
choose an ornament from the tree and donate in their honor to
the fundraising efforts. Take a card from the basket that
gives information on the fundraising effort you chose, fill it
out and then return to the box in the Narthex. The cards will
be given to Fr. Larry and Fr. Bob after the Christmas Sea-
son. You can also just choose an ornament from the Tree,
place your donation and ornament in the envelope provided.
Drop in the collection basket or bring to the parish office.
Thank you for your generosity!
THE GIVING TREE gifts should all be returned TODAY,
December 16 in time for the nursing homes’ Christmas par-
ties. If there are any questions you can email [email protected].
A huge thanks to all of you who have so kindly donated to the
Giving Tree.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT. Anyone interested in joining the
seasonal choir is most welcome. The Christmas Concert this year
will be held on Sunday, December 23rd at 5:30PM in the church
followed by an Open House in the Friendship Room. No audi-
tions required! For further information, contact Trish Lane at 301-
751-8058.
THE PARISH OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED BEGIN-
NING Monday, December 24 through Friday, December 28,
2018 in observance of the Christmas holiday. As always if an
emergency situation should arise and you need to contact a
priest, simply dial the parish office number and follow the
telephone prompts to be connected with the priest on duty.

from 9:00AM-12:00 Noon, and closed on Tuesday, January
1st in observance of the New Years holiday. Regular hours

CONSECRATION TO THE HOLY FAMILY. On
December 30th, your Knights will offer an opportunity for
each family to consecrate themselves to the Holy Family,
following the 9.am. Mass. To help families live out the joy
of Christ, Supreme Chaplain Archbishop William E. Lori
has composed a prayer through which families will come
together to consecrate themselves under the protection of the
Holy Family. In this prayer, we ask for the aid or interces-
sion of the perfect son Jesus Christ, Mary the perfect mother,
and Joseph who is a model for every father. Preparing for
the Consecration to the Holy Family is not a single event. It
is choosing a way of life for your family. Through this con-
secration, each participant is consciously choosing to be a
beacon of God’s love through his Church. Knights will hand
out informational brochures and Prayer Cards after all Mass-
es on the 22nd/23rd.
