out the Universal Church. It is also a season in which prayer,
the reception of the sacraments, charity and almsgiving are
emphasized. Fast (limit of one full meal for all between the
ages of 18 and 59) and abstinence (all who have reached their
14th birthday are bound to abstain totally from meat) are ob-
served on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. All Fridays in
Lent are days of abstinence from meat. As our Easter Duty
Obligation, Holy Communion must be received during the
Easter Season, as specified by Archdiocesan Regulations.
