PROFILE—Andrew Singleton, Club Welfare Officer
Hi, my name is Andrew Singleton and I’m the Club Welfare Officer for
Ryburn United, I’m 46 and have two children with my wife Sarah.
I have a long affiliation with Ryburn United having been born and
raised in Ripponden and currently coach the U12’s Blacks alongside
the role of CWO.
I’m an FA level 1 qualified coach, Safeguarding certified and have
also completed the FA Welfare Officer Workshop.
My responsibilities as Club Welfare Officer include:
• To be clear about the club's responsibilities when running
activities for children and young people.
• To help club personnel understand what their 'duty of care' towards children and
young people actually means and entails on a day-to-day basis.
Put simply, I’m committed to providing a safe environment for children to enjoy playing
football for Ryburn United.
I am available to all parents, club members, coaches and children who wish to discuss
their concerns or raise any issues. I can be contacted by mobile on 07887 425321 or by
email at [email protected]

Junior Goalkeeper Training Sessions
This season we have continued our commitment to
develop our goalkeepers across mini and junior
football.
Our keeper training sessions have recently recom-
menced with Luke Hirst from Paul Brown Goalkeeping
doing some excellent sessions. We have two groups
on 8 week courses, one for those aged 11 and under
and the other group for those aged 12+.
Part funded by the club these continue to be enjoyed
by many of our young keepers and you’ll often see
clips of our keepers in training on the Paul Brown
Goalkeeping twitter feed @PaulBrownGK. There are
only a few places left on the current course but it is
likely we will continue these in the New Year.

And there’s more Coaching news…..
Adam Powell, one of our first team
players who is a UEFA B coach has
been helping Craig Jennings with the
U14’s Girls. We will also being using
Adam throughout the other age
groups to help at training sessions
and if needed on game day.
We have also set up a Coach Mentoring session with
the FA run by Lee Ashforth - FA Coach Mentor. This
will be run 7-8pm on the 28th of November at Beech
Hill during the U10/U11’s training.
This is an opportunity for all coaches to attend and
observe/listen to gain new ideas in ‘developing and
practising’.
Christmas is Coming….
