“Adfines Sea” is ABC Maritime`s first vessel to transit the Saint La-wrence Seaway on her journey to Hamilton, Canada. The Great Lakes (5 in all), form part of the border between the United States and Canada. We now have two of our tankers (“Adfines Sea” on T/C 26th June and “Adfines Star” on T/C 14th August) that will have regular transits in this area and this winter will operate in
ICE. Good luck guys!
Many thanks to Captain Petro Bogachuk for taking the time to
send photographs.
For this year’s summer event the Nyon employees were invited to spend an afternoon
in the boots of cowboy/girls. Three teams: the Indians, the Sheriffs and the Cowboys
had to compete in activities such as horseshoe throwing, gold search, whiskey smug-
gling and line-dance, which were finally followed by a BBQ. Unlike in Hollywood, the
Indians won.
Despite the rainy and chilly weather (as one could expect by organising a summer
event on 1st of May…), all the participants played the game and the afternoon was
great fun.

In 2013 our group took delivery of two chemical tankers from AVIC Dingheng – “San Padre Pio” and “San Pietro”. Having such a good expe-rience and establishing an excellent working relationship at the builders we contracted to build two 4,900 tdw bitumen tankers, and agreed to take op-tions to build two more. We are pleased to report that the two options have
been agreed and we will take delivery of two more tankers in 2016.
Our Chinese newbuilding team returned to shipyard for the first steel cutting in October. The newly contracted Hull numbers 55 and 56 will become “San Bendetto II” and “San Bertoldo”. We will keep you posted as we pass the
building “milestones”.
Adfines East televised
Another first for ABC Maritime! One of our vessels was the cen-tral character for a television documentary. ”Adfines East” was filmed for the purpose of a documentary on the expansion of the Panama Canal. The pro-gramme titled “ECO” was aired on Swiss German channel SRF1 on 16th June, 2014 and con-ducted by journalist D. Stadel-mann who boarded “Adfines East” on 28th April 2014 to film the vessel during its crossing of
the Panama Canal.
“My stay on
"Adfines East was excellent. Good weather conditions, no delays and above all the very helpful and courteous Capitan and Crew”
said Mr. D. Stadelmann.
"ECO" is a weekly magazine which broadcasts on SRF1 (Schweizer Radio und Fernseh-
en).
