Collaborative Project Management
Why are project meetings so
important?
Effective Project Meetings • Are essential to collaborative project management
• Help energize the team, making them feel connected, involved and
informed
• Boost collaboration and communication
• Support decision making and problem solving
“Meetings get a bad rap, and deservedly so -
most are disorganized and distracted. But they
can be a critical tool for getting your team on the
same page”.
- Justin Rosenstein, Asana
1. The DAFT Approach Desired outcome, Agenda, Facilitator and Take Aways
DAFT
Approach
Every project meeting should have:
- Desired outcome- Think about the purpose of the meeting.
- Agenda- Develop an agenda to meet your objective.
- Facilitator- A facilitator:
- Starts the meeting by explaining the desired outcome of the
meeting
- Shares the agenda
- Makes sure everyone sticks to the agenda!
- Take Aways- At the end the meeting, summarize key actions and deadlines.
- Some people may have become distracted in the meeting so it is useful
to finish with a summary!
