(Hons.) degree course 2014-15. Based on performance at the CLAT, 2014 held on 11 th  May 2014, the candidates who are provisionally selected up to 30 th  June 2014 by Gujarat National Law University (Organizing University) for counselling for admission in the five year integrated B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) / B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) degree course at Ch anakya National Law University, Patna, are requested to meet the Registrar along with parents at Chanakya National Law University, Nyaya Nagar, Mithapur, Patna-800 001 between 11.00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. from 27/6/2014 to 03/07/2014 with the following documents (Original and Attested Photo copies both): 1. School/College Leaving Certificate or Transfer Certificate (Original) 2. Migration Certificate (Original) 3. Character Certificate (Original) from the institution last attended indicating that he/she has never been found guilty of misconduct during the study period. 4. Original Matriculation certificate or Mark Sheet where Date of Birth is clearly mentioned. (Attested photocopy and original for verification) 5. Mark Sheet of Matriculation (Attested photocopy and original for verification) 6.  Mark Sheet of Intermediate (Attested photocopy and original for verification) 7. Medical Certificate of good health along with blood group. 8. Caste Certificate (Attested photocopy and original for verification for the reserved category candidates) 9. Four Passport size photographs. 10. One Passport size photograph of the Local Guardian who shall be a near/close relative. 11. Admit Card of CLAT   2014 (Original signed by the invigilator) 12. Receipt of the bank challan for  `  1,00,000/-(One Lake Rupees) (Original of CLAT Copy) paid to CLAT-2014. 13. DD of  `  73,000/- drawn in favour of REGISTRAR, CHANAKYA NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY, PATNA payable at Patna. 14. Parents and candidates are requested to come with filled in affidavit form issued from UGC regarding ragging matters at the time of their counselling (See an nexure II & III). Note: Provisionally selected candidate names will be notified on our web site as and when it comes from Gujarat National Law University, Gujarat (Organizing University of CLAT-2014).

    Candidates taking admission through CLAT 2014 shall pay a total amount of ` 1, 73,000/- (Rupees

    One Lakh Seventy Three Thousand only) whereas Foreign Nationals/NRIs/NRI Sponsored

    candidates shall pay a total amount of ` 3, 33,000/- (Rupees Three Lakh Thirty Three thousand

    only or equivalent in US $).

    * For two continuing semesters (excluding summer or winter placement and vacation)

    Note:

    1. The dress code is compulsory for all the official functions and the Moot Courts (including

    intra) of the University. Hence the students should get the dress etc. ready which

    includes Black Trousers, White Shirt, Black Coat, Black Tie and Black Shoes.

    2. The students should bring the following for hostel accommodation:

    Mosquito Net Mirror Umbrella and other necessary items of daily use.

    The classes for the First Semester (2014-15 Batch) will commence on 14th July, 2014.

    After the interview and finalization of the admission to the University and to the Hostel you will

    be admitted to the Hostel on 14th July 2014. The hostel accommodation is not compulsory for all

    students as the local and other students can be day scholars too. In case the admission is not

    confirmed for any reason, the fees remitted by you will be refunded. The rules of refund of fees

    as applicable is indicated in the Annexure-I.

    You are required to undergo a general medical check-up from a recognized and reputed

    diagnostic laboratory / clinic / government hospital and produce the medical report (specially

    mentioning the blood group and whether you are allergic to certain medicines) for the reference

    of the Universitys Medical Officer. The Medical facility on the campus is limited for minor

    ailments. If you are suffering from any ailment / disease which warrant medical consultation on

    regular / frequent basis, emergency medical facilities would not be available. In such cases you

    need to consult your parents before finally deciding to join Chanakya National Law University,

    Patna.

    The University does not allow any student to keep vehicles (two wheeler/ four wheeler). Mess

    facility is available on payment of monthly charges decided by the Students Mess Committee.

    At present it is ` 1,950/- per month payable by 1st week of every month. This amount will be

    deducted every month from your mess deposit.

    The University upholds integrity, character, discipline and academic excellence to which every

    student must contribute. Students are to observe and adhere to the rules and regulations of the

    University. Your Parents should impress on you their obligation in this regard before deciding to

    send you for admission to Chanakya National Law University, Patna. RAGGING AND SEXUAL

    HARASSMENT IN ANY FORM IS BANNED AND IS ALSO PUNISHABLE BY LAW and will entail

    immediate expulsion from the University. Parents and candidates are requested to come with

    filled in affidavit form issued from UGC regarding ragging matters at the time of their

    counselling (See Annexure II & III).

    The University has already constituted an Anti-ragging Cell. The Faculty would be doing their

    best to mould the career of every student in a manner that the University can justifiably be proud

    of. In this effort constant and continuing support of the parents is necessary. The University

    would like parents to accompany you, so that they can interact with the Vice-Chancellor,

    Registrar, Faculty and the Wardens and get to know the facilities available as no demands for

    facilities other than those available will be entertained by the University.

    The University endeavours to develop in every student human dignity to inculcate and cultivate

    in them fundamental moral values and maintain high standards of discipline. The University is a

    non-smoking zone and consumption of intoxicating liquors and psychotropic substances is

    strictly prohibited. It is the responsibility of the parents to ensure that their wards do not

    cultivate any of these habits. Use of cell phones in the Classrooms, the Library and Administrative

    Block is prohibited. The University also discourages use of cell-cameras on the campus or in the

    Hostel Rooms. If anybody is found misusing the cell phone, the cell phone will be confiscated

    and the person so misuses shall be punished. Violation of any of these rules would be viewed as

    an act of indiscipline and may entail severe action which may lead to expulsion from the

    University. An undertaking to the effect should be signed by you and your parents/guardian and

    delivered in the Registrars office. Before you decide to join the University you need to consider

    all these aspects.

    If you do not report and complete admission formalities on the appointed date and time, this

    provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled and the consequential vacancy will be

    offered to the wait-listed candidates in the same order of merit as prepared by CLAT2014. No

    request for extension of time for payment of tuition fee or submission of original certificates etc.

    ANNEXURE-I

    Rules relating to refund of fees as applicable

    a. In respect of the candidates who do not turn up for the interview on the specified date

    after depositing the fees, 20% of the tuition fee will be retained by the University and the

    balance amount will be refunded.

    b. In respect of the candidates whose admissions are confirmed after interview and who

    leave the University and the consequential vacancy is filled up, 30% of the tuition fee plus

    admission fees and admission processing fee (in case of CLAT candidates, ` 27,000+ `

    1,000+ ` 5,000/- and in case of FN/NRI/NRI Sponsored Category, ` 75,000+ ` 1,000 + `

    5,000) will be retained and the balance amount will be refunded. Other charges if any,

    due to the University, will be collected.

    c. In respect of the candidates who leave the University and the consequential vacancy

    does not get filled in, the following amounts will be retained by the University and the

    rest will be refunded:

    For CLAT candidates:

    Tuition Fee ` 90,000/-

    Admission Fee ` 1,000/-

    Admission Processing Fee ` 5,000/-

    For FN/NRI/NRI Sponsored category

    Tuition Fee ` 2, 50,000/-

    Admission Fee ` 1,000/-

    Admission Processing Fee ` 5,000/-

    Facilities Fee and Room Rent will be retained pro rata on monthly basis. Mess dues are to be

    paid by the candidate or will be deducted from the amount to be refunded.
