The livewire forward signed a player registration form last Thursday and will play for the South Kangaroos in round one of the CAFL on April 7. South Football Club coach Darren Talbot said the decision for Jurrah to play for the Kanga- roos was easy. ‘‘The reason Liam’s playing for Souths this year is the family connection within the club,’’ he said. ‘‘Just the feeling of knowing he will have the support of the players and coaching staff right behind him on what decis- ions he makes.’’ Talbot said he sat down with Jurrah and basically asked ‘‘what would you like us to do to help you get back on track and the love connection for football flowing into your body once again’’. ‘‘We came to a agreement on taking one stage at a time and then build on that as the weeks go by,’’ Talbot said. ‘‘Only Liam knows what Liam wants and basically myself and Ian McAdam will support and guide him to the next stage.’’ ‘‘This is a bloke who has just come off the worst year he’s ever had and pressuring or dictating Liam into doing things is the last thing he needs on his mind. The Yuendumu 2008 premier- ship star is on the long road back to restarting his football career after being found not guilty of assault in the Northern Territory Supreme Court last Thursday. ‘‘People say ‘he has gotta play here and there’ if he’s to get back into the system and I’m not against that,’’ Talbot said.
