Context and environment: Project English was initiated in the India/Sri Lanka region in 2007 with the aim of raising the standard of English of young aspiring people to facilitate their access to education and career opportunities. The project works across three strands: 1. Grant-funded teacher training programmes in the state school sector 2. A network of four Teaching Centres 3. Corporate training and consultancy The Corporate Training Strand has developed a unique consultancy product for BPO organisations in India as well as a range of more standard corporate courses and workshops. Corporate Training works in three product areas: 1. Consultancy for major Indian IT services companies (providing outsourced services for multinational corporations) and UK companies with operations in India (such as banks and telecommunications firms). This is our core, specialist offer tailored to the needs of the outsourcing sector, focusing on: • Delivering language, culture and soft skills enhancement courses • Training corporate trainer and assessor teams • Devising and implementing language level tests for recruitment 2. Role Profile

Responsibilities:

Delivering work to agreed standards

Main duties:

Delivery of corporate training services to clients within the India region. These will include: leading 1 or 2-day professional training workshops; conducting role profiling, placement testing (based on CEF benchmarking) and needs analysis for clients; delivering customised training courses based on English and soft skills; conducting training audits as part of ongoing support to clients.

Assistance in the development of training materials either for new products and services offered to the corporate sector or for course content tailored specifically to the needs of a particular client.
