Roland Hoelscher - Initial Steps / Default Approach
1. Multi Currency Wealth Management
Engaged by top tier wealth manager to lead multi currency project for expansion of US Dollar
based Wealth Management practice into international markets and investment products.
Project included enhancement of IT systems, interfaces and vendor tools for multi-currency
requirements, establishing multi-currency procedures in Operations, Credit/Risk, and
Compliance, and selection of service providers for multi currency credit lines, custody, FX, and
client wires.
2. Development of Policy ODS for P & C Insurance Firm
Managed development & deployment of enterprise data warehouse covering multiple business
lines, 12 different data sources, and 5 years of transaction history. Including data sourcing,
data models, and distribution of data via web services. I accepted PM responsibility for project
with 4 years of history and failed attempts to develop, load, and deploy the new data
warehouse. I managed team which completed development, data load, QA and deployment
within six months.
3. Regulatory Reform Project for Margin Rules on OTC Derivatives
Managed Dodd Frank global derivative regulatory reform project covering Legal, Risk,
Compliance, Operations, Front Office and Finance. Managed global project team of 75+ and
chaired Steering Committee. Project included regulatory impact assessment, implementation
of new “regime based” CSA architecture, client engagement, re-papering of 5,000
new/amended CSAs, enhancements to systems, workflows, and procedures in Legal,
Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Front Office.
