Cathy brown kicked it into gear and never looked back.

Cathy Brown is the first to tell you that she “loves, loves, loves” her Rodan + Fields® business. That’s because she loves to help people get the best skincare of their lives. She also enjoys helping her team of Consultants reach their goals by giving them constant recognition, appreciation and support. This focus on helping others is one reason she is gaining recognition and rewards of her own as she builds her business.

Cathy joined Rodan + Fields as an Independent Consultant in August 2012. Although she says she only “dabbled” at building a business at first, she always made her $600 goal each month and kept a watchful eye on the activities of her successful Sponsor and friend. Once she saw how simple actions could bring success, she was able to “kick it into gear.” She got busy and never looked back. Rodan + Fields proved to be the ideal vehicle for helping her to earn the extra income she wanted, plus it offered the beauty of flexibility—one of her key requirements for a career.

Earning miles in January through the Company’s new Lead The Way incentive program simply meant giving her Preferred Customers the very best customer service she could— an action that continues to help her keep and expand her personally enrolled PCs. And since Cathy is so excited about her business, she never fears putting the critical practices into action; she shares the opportunity and the products with others. “I’ve never thought I do anything special,” she says. “I am coachable and do what the successful Leaders tell us to do ... this means being consistent, diligent and taking advantage of every opportunity that is presented.”

To keep herself motivated and moving forward, Cathy has a host of “whys,” and at the top of that list is to contribute to her family’s financial freedom and earning 35 Lead The Way miles so she and her husband can travel to San Francisco for the Lead The Way 5 Milestone award, the Leaders in Excellence and Loyalty Roundtable, hosted by Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields at the Rodan + Fields Home Office.

HEATHER NIANOURISLevel II Executive Consultant from Dayton, Ohio

Heather’s dream is not just possible … it is likely.

When Heather Nianouris’ best friend Jamie Walker said she was considering enrolling as a Rodan + Fields Independent Consultant, Heather wasted no time telling her she was crazy. Determined to talk Jamie out of starting her own business, Heather decided to thoroughly research Rodan + Fields so she would have the knowledge to convince Jamie she was making a big mistake. After an all-night researching session, as the sun rose, an unexpected realization also dawned on Heather: Jamie would be foolish to pass up such an opportunity.

Heather told Jamie she would be her Customer but never an Independent Consultant. Then she fell in love with the REVERSE Regimen and for six months watched Jamie’s growing success—Heather even sent her prospects. In December 2013, Heather’s sister-in-law joined Jamie’s team and Heather saw how much fun she was having. Ignoring her earlier proclamation, Heather joined Jamie’s team by becoming one of her sister-in-law’s Consultants. She is quickly building her own team and has a goal of achieving Level V within 90 days of her start date.

Earning Lead The Way miles has enhanced Heather’s basic action plan. Her original goal in January was to add three Consultants and three new Preferred Customers. She felt it was a lofty goal but she went for it. As the month progressed, her goal grew larger—along with her business. She credits her Lead The Way success with watching her upline Leaders and mimicking their actions, and she always “friends” the top earners on her Facebook team page. Her goal today is to earn five miles each month so she can join the other earners on the trip to San Francisco for the Leaders in Excellence and Loyalty Roundtable, hosted by Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields at the Rodan + Fields Home Office.

Today, this energetic wife, pregnant with her second child (due this summer), is focused on expanding her Rodan + Fields business so she can retire from her teaching career to be home with her children. “I am beginning to dream bigger,” she says. “If I continue on this path, that dream isn’t just possible, it is likely.”

SARAH AND PHIL RObbINS RFx Executive Consultants from Michigan

Goal setting is critical for earning miles and success.

When it comes to building success for their team, Sarah Robbins and her husband, Phil, truly Lead The Way. Their journey as two of Rodan + Fields’ top Leaders began in February 2008 when Sarah and her mother, Kris Fairless, joined as two of the Company’s first Independent Consultants. Sarah was a full-time kindergarten teacher and she started her Rodan + Fields business to supplement her salary. With the economy taking a toll on positions all around her, she wanted a Plan B in case she or Phil lost their jobs.

The couple’s Plan B soon escalated to Plan A—in their first year Sarah replaced her teaching income working her business part-time. And within five years as a full-time Consultant, she and Phil were earning a robust six figure monthly income, far beyond their dreams. Although Sarah is no longer teaching kindergarteners, she is still helping people learn and grow—a part of her job she really loves. “Now I still get to teach and train, but in a different way,” she says. “I am an ordinary person who had a vision and a reason for making this work … that’s truly all you need.”

Sarah and Phil believe goal setting is critical; they engineered their Lead The Way success by setting a goal of acquiring five miles each month over the course of the program’s seven months. They focus on both Customer Loyalty miles and Team Building miles; however, Sarah says people usually want to become Consultants when they hear Sarah’s enthusiasm and how their business has transformed their lives. “Consistency and daily activity were the keys to our success,” Sarah states. She also credits “reaching out to a few new people every day and following up.”

As the couple sets a motivating, blistering pace to earn all 35 miles and the Lead The Way grand prize, they also take time to focus on helping others. “Our greatest joy will be opening a 100-child orphanage in India in December,” Sarah says.

JAMIE wALkER Level IV Executive Consultant from Charlotte, NC

Jamie walker knew she had to try building her own successful business.

Jamie Walker attended a friend’s Big Business Launch in May 2013 with no knowledge of Rodan + Fields, and she left with a mental list of potential Customers and Consultants.

As Jamie listened to the presenter’s story and heard about the products, the wheels of opportunity began to turn in her mind. She saw how the business was a perfect fit for her and she enrolled as an Independent Consultant a few days later. “I couldn’t not try,” she says.

A former high school business teacher who is now a stay-at-home mom to her two sons and twin daughters, Jamie has always been busy—she leads fundraising efforts for breast cancer research, trains for half-marathons and volunteers at her sons’ school. She knows that busy people get things done. “When people tell me they are too busy to do this, I say, ‘You are exactly the kind of person I’m looking for!’” she says.

Jamie earned Lead The Way miles in January by focusing on two and 10. “I wanted to add two new Consultants to my growing team and I wanted to have 10 PC orders,” she explains. “I had some prospects on the fence … I knew I could do it.” She had no idea, however, that she would end up with so many Consultants. “Lots of thinkers became doers for me that month,” she adds. She focuses on acquiring PCs as well as Consultants and tries to earn a minimum of four miles each month—two for new Consultants and two for PCs—but bare minimum is just not her style. In fact, as Jamie continues to expand her business, she has every intention of earning all 35 miles. One way she plans to do this is by hosting a Coffee & Conversation each month. And her long-term goals are already in place: She wants to visit the Coliseum in Rome with her husband, take her boys to LEGOLAND and let her daughters meet Cinderella.
